Exclamation Phase I-"NoFooling"

To all my Beach Buddies,

I am so bad about not posting, I have also been so bad about South Beach. I danced with WW and it didn't work. I tried Flex,so yesterday here is what I had Wheat and Bran 3pts., skim milk 2pts. Chick fil a sandwich 9pts(it is what I really wanted) carrot salad 4 pts. By mid afternoon I was starving and you know the rest of the story. I made up my mind (really) that April 1, I was back on the beach. I will even take a secluded part of an island, just let me back!!! LOL.

Then this morning I ended up at the podiatrist. I have an entrapped nerve, I got a huge shot in the side of my foot OUCH!!! A funny shoe, and orders not to exercise for 2 weeks. Now that is the 1 thing I do positive for myself!!! I actually tried to argue. I got the old doctor look and was told 2 weeks could turn into much longer, if I chose. I am thinking about yoga.??? Anyone know anything about it.

However, when I left I told myself, 2 weeks = 2 weeks on Phase I!! I started right then and there, I had only had time for coffee and a hard boiled egg this morning, so I was OK.. I made myself a nice brunch of eggs, cheese, and Canadian bacon, sliced tomatoes and coffee.

Thank you for always being here, I hope I will one day be able to encourage others as you guys do!!

Active,
Welcome back! I, too, have done the WW thing and it just never, ever worked for very long. I just ended up stretching what point values were. I cheated myself all the time. I like this way of eating because I am not hungry and don't have to count and journal and obsess about food. The obsessing gets real old, FAST!

Pull up a beach chair and relax!

You will still need to use your foot for Yoga. However, there are some pilates stretches that you can do lying down or atleast not putting pressure on your injured foot. Just google pilates and see what you come up with. Also, I have been using a pilates exercise ball that costs about $11 at Walmart. You sit on it and are able to do ab crunches, stretches, and more! Also, working on your upper body strength during this time would also help. Pick up a couple weights at the store and do some curls or something. If you don't have weights, use shampoo bottles filled with water (or shampoo?)

I hope this helps! The beach is great and I wish you the best with it! Get well soon!
