Talking I Did It!!!

Ok, I just got to share this moment with all my friends here on 3FC,
I finally got to goal!!!

Its taken 15 long months to lose 56.5 pounds, but better that than not at all!

So if anyone out there is doubting the benefits of the WW programme, or if your goal seems too far off to think about, just take it from me, stick with it, you can do it in the end - If I can, anyone can!

(Good grief, I can't stop grinning, but I guess that's allowed, huh?)

Woo-hoo, Dawny. That is fantastic. You deserve a big pat on the back. Yes, it can be done (I'm proof, too). I remember when you started! Congrats and stay with it.

It was so nice to read your post. I am in such a bind and I can't get back on track. But you did so good! What did you do for exercise, and did you just do the points program? Congrats. You are making me smile.

Domina, Hi, yeah, I remember the recent 'plateau' post, thanks for the advice on that, I did as you suggested and tried to alternate a bit between high point and lower point days, just to get the old metabolism thing moving again - whether it was that or not that did the trick - who knows, but either way, something shifted those last few pounds. Maybe, I just got my head around the fact that I was almost there and a final push was all that was needed, rather than psycologically (sp?) thinking I was already there?

Deanne, Hi, although the flex plan is a bit different to our points programme here in the UK, it still comes down to a couple of things when you want success - planning, journalling, watching your portion sizes (I weigh almost everything) and loads of water intake. I have journalled every single day since I started with WW and its the main thing that keeps me on track. If you know what you have eaten, you can't cheat, and if you do, you know where you went wrong so you don't do it again!

JKbunch, hi there. I know its tough when you get stuck. I had a few times where no matter how good I seemed to be, nothing worked, and sometimes I didn't feel like being good and just ate everything in sight, then had enormous trouble getting myself back into gear. When things got to their worst point, I think just after the Christmas holidays, I sat down took a long look at myself and what I had already achieved. By that point I had lost about 50# and the last few would not go anywhere and I wasn't that inclined to try. I got out my old 'before' photos, some of my old journals and tried to remember how I felt before I 'found' WW. I remembered I felt sad. That, among lots of other nasty familiar feelings, was not something I wanted to feel again, especially in relation to how I looked and felt. So I gave myself a kick in the butt and got my act together. It still took a good while to get over the plateau, but it works when you keep trying. As regards to exercise, I have to be honest, and say I didn't do half as much as I should have done. A bit of walking etc, nothing too energetic I have to say. Recently I started doing the '8 minutes in a morning' thing, and I think that may well have given me a bit of a boost, but I'm no gym addict, little and not so often, thats me!
It was our points programme I followed from day one. Only since New year has the UK introduced our version of the Core programme, which I did for one week, maintained my weight, felt for the first time as if I was on a diet, so went back to points. It works for me. I know where I stand with it. I can control my portion sizes with it.
I got to goal, what more can I say? (I'm still smiling!!!)

Congratulations!!! I am new to the board also and yet a long time drop out of WW but this is it and no more dropping out. You are a very BIG inspiration to me. One of the hardest things for me is to think about how long it is going to take me but it will be so worth it in the end. Congratulations again!!!!!
