Default Hump Day - March 16

"One fine morning when you wake up" (Blood, Sweat and Tears) is running through my brain today for some reason. Maybe it's because the East is all bright and clear which means another gloriously sunny day. Spring is definitely coming! The melt has started and we'll soon be in Muddy Paw Season.

Not much on the schedule today. I am going to make some Scotch Broth Soup for Harry. I detest the stuff but he loves it - probably because his mother was Scottish. Tomorrow we'll eat Irish to celebrate my side of the family!

Wakey, wakey, EveryChick! A new day has begun. (Geez now I'll have "Memories" from Cats running through my brain too!)

Good Morning Ruth! Where's everyone at this morning?!
I'm getting ready for work...very slowly! At least my boss won't be there today!
She brought in a dozen doughnuts yesterday & ate 6 of them. I know because I counted each of them! I wanted one, but I didn't touch it! (small victory for me!) And she still claims to be losing weigh & it's always a pound or two more than me - she's full of it!
I think I'm going to reward myself with a manicure for not touching those doughnuts!
I'll check back before heading to work, everyone have a great day!!

Ruth, wouldja keep your ear worms to yourself, please?! I have enough problems with my own!
Scotch broth is horrible stuff.
I'll make the girls some little boots... I have a bag of leather somewhere...

Soon2B, SIX doughnuts!! In front of everyone!? I would have taken the box home, and eaten them in private. Is that why she's not at work today? Feeling a little queasy, is she?
How is your Mom doing, hon? I think about you/her every day... keeping you in my prayers.

I slipped coming down the attic stairs yesterday, and wrenched my fat knee. I think it's a bit swollen, but it's hard to tell. It hurts like the dickens... I can barely stand to move it.

Going to get coffee... back in a mo...

Good Morning ! Ruth, the sun is shining brightly here, too, and I've already been outside and it feels great. Spring is coming, hurray!
Soon2, you are to be commended for passing on those donuts! Go get that manicure! I just can't believe the gull of your boss. Your boss has a very low intelligence level, doesn't she? How did she ever achieve that status? It must be entertaining to work for somebody like that.
I'm not feeling so good this morning. I couldn't sleep last night, and even though I took some Advil I still have a headache and a slight stomachache. I'm sipping some tea for now and decided to skip Curves. I need to start feeling better soon because I'm spending the day with one of my granddaughters and I want to enjoy it. We're planning to spend the day at the park enjoying the sunshine. Well, I think I'll go make some toast to settle my tummy and take a couple more Advil.
Enjoy this day!

Ellis - Sorry to hear about the knee! I always fall & hurt my knee. Watch it, you might have to get it drained. The needle is a bit long, but it relives the pressure immediately!
My mother is in rehabilitation - a new hospital. The new hospital is recommending that we sue the old hospital because they failed to treat a bed blister on my mother leg. It got infected & spread to her back side & the new hospital has to remove the first layer of skin to get rid of the infection.
Overall she's doing better - Kloe went to see her (my little chicken to the left!) & that cheered her up. I'm doing down Sat. to visit. Thank you for your support & prayers - they really do work!
Well I'm off to work - have a great day!!!!!!

Oh Ellis, I hope you didn't do any damage to your knee! Maybe you should go have it checked out just to make sure. Take care, sweetie, and I hope your feeling better soon!

Good morning chicks the sun is shinning here and I even have my kitchen window open to let in some fresh air. It makes me feel wonderful.

Ruth Morning Ruth... muddy paw season has started here, I keep a mop and bucket ready at all times. I am not sure who is worse the dogs, kids or DH I hope Harry enjoys his broth.

soon2Bfab- Good for you not eating any of those donoughts. Your boss will have to face up to who is losing more when the spring and summer clothes come into season and you are looking more fab than her. Keep up the good work chick.

Ellis- Oh Ellis your poor knee. sending these your way take care of that knee today.

Cottage sorry to hear you are not feeling to well, take care and enjoy your grandaughter nothing like the love and hugs from a wee one to make you feel better.

Me I was going to start at my new job today but there was a staff problem and I am starting Friday night for my training, I told all my parents and they all took it well. I am going to work 2 mornings a week and a sunday for now. Hopefully I need to talk to the boss about that Friday night. Other than that I have gone to Curves 2x's now and I am loving it. I still have not had a diet coke now if I could just get the eating back on track. life would be in the total right direction. Well I must go get the wee one a snack I will return.

Morning all!

Well I'm exactly the same weight this am. Not sure what is going on besides TOM is coming this weekend but I must be getting into something that has slowed the weight loss. I'm not going to panic until next week when TOM should have started and maybe this bloat I'm feeling will go away. We know that I hate it when the scale doesn't move especially when I've been very, very good. But I'm going to try not to get discouraged.

Ellis - Please be careful. Knees are a precious commodity! Ice packs and heat packs and put it up!

Ruth - I think you have the spring bug! It is supposed to be 40 here on Sunday! Heatwave!

Soon2bFab - That woman is mentally ill. She would drive me nuts. In fact she is getting on my nerves and I don't even know her.

Cottage - enjoy the park!

I can't find my drivers license so I have to get a new one today. Not sure what that entails with all the new Homeland Security stuff. I better check before I drive over there. Have a great day chickies.

Morning Ladies~

I've been MIA for about a week now. LOTS of things going on here. Mostly my 13mos old baby has been ill for quite some time now and over the past 2wks things have kinda gotten worse. HE's on Round2 of antibiotics (2wks in a row) and I honestly don't think they're doing a darn thing. But, what do i know..i'm only mom..and a nurse.. UGH! I am calling them again today to complain. I have also been so off phase not even funny. Haven't exercised in a week until last night. Kinda on phase yesterday. Had a girl thing last night and we had LOTS of wine..yum! and it was a fondue tasting event. OMG! Soo delicious! I was good, I only had 3pieces of fruit with a touch of the choc., a wheat cracker and 1 slice of colby jack cheese with it. THat was it! But, I did have 3 very large glasses of wine..... Came home, went out for a 45min walk..that was refreshing, but cold! then was feeling rather odd, so I decided I had better eat something because my intake for yesterday, was very few calories.. so I had an apple & some peanut butter..I felt much better. Ya know, that natural peanut butter isn't too bad. But, anyway, I'm back on phase today..I have yet to eat breakfast though, that's coming here in a sec..this weight has got to come off!! It's not going to happen not eating right and sitting around. SO, back into exercising for me..plus the Walk Across Kansas has started .. so I HAVE to walk, right??

Ellis~I hope you didn't do anything bad to your knee. LOTS of good things they can do for it though if you did. Take it easy.

Ruth~Scotch Broth Soup, doesn't sound too bad. WHat's it got in it??

Soon2be~WTG on resisting the donuts! I LOVE donuts but I don't even touch them anymore..If I get started, that's it, there's no stopping. LOL Yes, go reward yourself with a manicure..you deserve it.. And 6?! OMG! And claims she's losing weight. YOu know she's full of crap! LOL

Cottage~It's beautiful out here too.. Supposed to be in the 50's again today and 60's tomorrow. I am sooo excited!! I am soo ready for Spring! I hope you're feeling better.

To those yet to come~HI!! Have a great day!!

Well, I've trod the mill and lugged out the garbage. By the way, Margo and the kids didn't show yesterday afternoon ! The other mother who was meeting them to bowl changed the plans and I sort of got lost in the shuffle. Margo is terribly upset that she forgot but I like her too much to be pissed off. I'm keeping an ongoing job list for the kids when they do show up.

Now, ELLIS! Get that knee seen to! I have the monopoly on crapped up knees and you are too young to take it over.

Fab, is that boss a nutcase! I can't believe she thinks she is fooling you. That's just horrible about your poor Mother!

Cottage, I hope you feel better as the day goes on. Spring is on her way. Will that help?

Little Chick, I'm glad the parents were OK with your career change. You are one busy lady but I'm sure you gave thos kidlets a great start with your care.

Amber, I'm so sorry your little one is still sick! He (and you) have really had a hard time of it. By the way, Scotch broth soup is made with a meaty lamb bone, turnips and barley. I hate it! Barley in soup seems slimey to me althought I like it in a pilaf.

Harry wants to go to the Library so I'm outta here. I feel so noble to have done my treadmill already and started the soup! I feel ahead of myself. Maybe we can have lunch and dinner right away and be in bed by noon!

Default Hi There

Good Morning, Everyone!

I just wanted to check in to let you all know I'm still here. I've been battling the flu, so this was a rough weekend. I'm still in Phase I, and I was able to stick to it with the exception of Ginger Ale and Orange Juice. I hope that doesn't hurt things too badly. I may stay on Phase I about 3 extra days to make up for it.

I started SBD on Thursday at 192, and I'm at 188.9 now. I'm happy about that, and hoping that I didn't just lose because I've been sick. Well, we'll soon find out!

Joy

Thanks for all the well-wishes for my knee, girls! You know, I try not to look at my knees too often. They're some fat woman's knees; I'm not sure where they came from, but they're sure as heck not mine!

Cottage, I hope you're feeling better soon so you can enjoy your day with your granddaughter. Look after yourself, hon.

Soon2b... Kloe... what a lovely name! I'll bet she cheered your dear Mom up!

Little Chick, good luck with your new job, hon!! And congratulations on going to Curves!! How's the darned weather? It's chilly here today. Well, friggin' cold, actually.

Amy, don't get discouraged... I'm sure it's TOM. That'll weight'll come off, girl. Look at you!! 195!! You're NEVER going to see 200 again!!

Amber, I love the natural peanut butter! It does take getting used to when you've grown up with the bad, icing sugar-filled stuff, though.
Hugs and prayers for your little one... I hope he's better soon.

Ruth, I still can't get over the fact that your treadmill is even out of the box! You go, girl!!

Joy, get better soon, sweetie! It's so hard to "diet" when you're ill. You'll be back on track in no time!!

I've started putting things back into the kitchen. All of the upper cabinets are "open", and it's tricky putting things in them when all you care about is aesthetics.

Morning, gals! No time to respond to each. I've got a bunch of stuff to get done before I meet with my manager for my performance appraisal this morning. She is in Oklahoma and we have never met so it is always interesting doing one of these over the phone. And I have to be careful what I say since there are several people close enough to hear what I say on the phone.

I finally got back down to 143 this morning. It seems like I always go up on the weekend. Probably because I don't drink enough water and eat my healthy snacks. Oh, well, back to work.
