Hey all, I've been a frequent visitor to this site but this is my first time posting. I'm 23 yrs old, 5'10'' with a large frame, and weigh 195lbs, and I'm hoping to reach 160-175 eventually. I've been at this a while and since last August I've lost a total of 55lbs, but now I've hit a plateau and need some motivation to reach past it. I guess I'm just looking for some support and tips from all of you. Good luck to all of you who are working on your bodies and self images.
Hi Heather - I'm also from Kentucky but I live in West Virginia now. I am 24 (25 next month) and I thought I'd say welcome!
Congratulations on the 55 pound loss! That's a great start. I got off to a pretty good start at the beginning of the year but a lot has happened to me this year. My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago and I haven't been very motivated ever since. I'm feeling a little better though, so I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym.
Hi Heather! I'm not from Kentucky, but I'm 5'10! LOL! You've done a fantastic job! I know that if you continue to dig through this site, you'll find your motivation to push through that plat!
Jocelyn I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing, now that you are going back to the gym exercise could be a great way to relieve emotional tension and stress you've been faced with. Good luck getting back into it!
Kygrrl I'm originally from a small town near Pikeville, a little place called Belfry in eastern KY. I'm in Lexington now going to school at UK, and I spent 4 years in Morehead doing my undergrad.
Thanks to all of you who replied...I really appreciate the nice comments and support.
Hee! What a small world. I'm from Cincinnati but my boyfriend is from Lexington (and graduated from UK) and now we live in California. I love Lexington. The rolling countryside, the Ho and their tater tots, the derby. His parents still live there so we visit often. Congrats on your weight loss!
Jaimemxpx - Hi from the Cheat Lake area! I'm not a student but my husband is in graduate school and works for one of the WVU athletic programs.
To the Kentucky girls - I'm from Western Kentucky but I lived in Lexington for several years while I was in undergrad and grad school. I love Lexington - I feel like it is my "true" home, not my hometown. I especially miss Kentucky when it's been snowing for several weeks straight like it has been here in West Virginia. We had a couple of days where it melted off but the ground is white now!
It's so cool that some of you are from/have lived in Lexington. Just recentlly they built a HUGE Gold's Gym on Palumbo Dr....they say it's the largest in the country. Lucky for me it's 2 minutes from my apartment, so it's become my second home!
Just have to say hi!
Grew up in Western Ky--then in Chicago for years, moved back to Ky--have offices in Louisville, Elizabethtown, and a brand new one in Lexington.
OK, Heather...this is a little scary. Im 23, 5'10", your size, have lost about the same ammount, and have the same goal. I ALSO went to Morehead State, but alas, I didnt stay the whole 4 years. I did 1 year there, 1 year at U of L, and 1 Year a JCC. Now, Im a stay at home Mommy, with no degree, but alot of college experience under my belt! I live about 45 mins north-east of Louisville, in a tiny little town.
Welcome to 3FC!! I usually post at the 100 pound club.
I was just in Lexington a couple of weeks ago but I haven't checked out the new Gold's yet. They were building it when I moved in July. I lived at The Resort at Lake Crossing apartments out on Richmond Road so it was really close to my apartment too.
I still work for a Kentucky company even though I live in WV. I would love to look at it.
