Default New From Tx

Hello to all,

I'm very nervous posting right now. My weight issues are something I've always dealt with privately in the past. I've been in depression mode all weekend, and I'm still a little sensitive. A friend from another forum recommended this website, and after looking around, I decided to register. I've reached a very low point in my life, and I need help.

I'm sorry this is so negative.

Whatever you are feeling, you are making a healthy choice for yourself, and that is something to feel great about. I think it's normal for anyone to feel depressed about their weight at some point. There are so many really nice people on these forums and a ton of wonderful advice. I find it easier to tell a total stranger that I'm struggling with my weight than to discuss it with my husband. Maybe I'm just pretending if I don't mention it, he won't notice

At any rate, in the support groups, there is a newbies a buddies thread that just started for new members. There is a variety of people with different backgrounds, but we all have a common goal and are supporting each other. Check it out, join our weekly challenges, and feel like you are doing something positive for yourself.

I definitely know how you feel--it's embarrassing to admit you have a problem but I agree with Michelle that talking about issues online with people that are struggling with the same issues is a saving grace. I can only talk to my boyfriend about food for so long...he doesn't get it that I can't have those full fat Doritos in the house because I will eat them all! So congrats for taking the step of registering and posting. I have just started myself on this site and found so many helpful posts and challenges. Where exactly in TX are you at anyway? Just moved here myself...Best of luck!
