Default Looking for WW buddy in MN

Hi, my name is Hannah, I'm from Maplewood Minnesota, I'm 21, and I'm trying to lose 80 pounds. My dad gave me a weight watchers membership for christmas but I haven't made it to any of the meetings yet. I'm actually rather frightened of going. I'd love to find someone who currently attends meetings or plans to start who would like to be my "weight loss buddy". And for anyone that currently attends meetings anywhere, what are the meetings like? Are there younger people that go?

Thumbs up

Hi Hannah!
Don't be frightened of the meetings. Everyone is very supportive and friendly. It really helps to hear other peoples stories and get ideas. I find people of all ages at my meetings; even some teenagers. A friend of mine in another town went to a tues. a.m. meeting and said everyone was old, but going to a meeting in the evening worked out better for her, as far as a younger group. I think most people your age are working and tend to stop in after work; whereas all the old people who don't work go in the morning.

These message boardsa are great too! Lots of ideas and recipes etc. We're all in the same boat. WHEN you get to a meeting; you will be asked to decide which plan you want to follow. If you follow CORE - join us over on the CORE support board. Lots of friendly people there.

Lisa

Hi! I'm not from MN, but WI is close. The WW meetings should be very informational and motivating-you will also probably get to know some of the regulars and they will become and inspiration, too. Good luck....the main thing is to stay with the program and it will work. I'll be a buddy for you and I'll look to you to share your newfound wisdon with me. Each meeting in each area is different. Best of luck!

Hey Hannah!
My name is Corissa and I actually go to school at The Minnesota School of Cosmetology in Oakdale. I have done WW in the past but I get frustrated and give up. I just turned 19 and I am determined to get this extra 90 lbs off by October (well, perhaps most of it, don't need to set myself up to fail!). I have not yet signed up but I plan on ordering my membership off the net tonight so I can start attending meetings soon. If you would like to talk more or need support going to meetings I wouldn't mind talking with you or even going with yea! Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want to talk more! Good luck, and I give you tons of congrats for making your health top priority! I hope we can both succeed!! Good Luck!!
