Default Early 20's Mom Needs To Slim Down

Hey all! I'm new here. I'm Jen and I'm 21 years old with 2 boys. I'm married living in Houston and I'm looking to lose about 70 lbs. I'm 189 now and I want to get to 120 or 115. Right now my diet consists of portion control, drinking more water, and eating more fruits and veggies. I have been walking with my husband and doing Pilates. I am starting Yoga and doing a few aerobic shows on FitTV.

Congratulations on the exercise. That's great!! My name is Amanda. I am 26 and have three kids. I live in Illinois and am also trying to lose 70 lbs. I have been getting up and getting on the treadmill and also lifting weights. My diet is about the same as yours. Just trying to watch portion size and eat healthier foods. I have been thinking about starting pilates. I hope to find the time and confidence to try it. Lets keep in touch and help each other out.

Amanda

Hey ladies, I am 27 yr old, married, no kids trying to lose 30-40 pounds. I am at 185 and 5'7 now and would like to get to about 150. I was always rail thin until about 20, when I joined the army (which I ate more and gained muscle-that was nice) and since have had to take several meds that helped pack on the pounds. I am med free and looking for support. I am lazy...I guess that comes from not having kids and a hubby that does alot of house work. Gives me alot of nothing to do. However, we recently got a Chocolate Lab, who will need lots of walks and exercise, so that is good for he and I. Well, I guess sums alot of it up. I work in a jail and since being placed in an office position, I really don't get the work out that I used to. I hope to share recipes, ideas and inspiration. Look me up.

Amanda: If you want to try out Pilates a good video to rent/buy is Pilates for Dummies it's very clear on directions and easy to follow!

I'm actually trying to lose weight for a more healthy pregnancy. Since I'm not pregnant yet, so I bought a DVD off of E-bay on Belly-dancing fitness. When it comes in I'll see if it works and helps me drop a few pounds. I've done the pilates things until I lost my DVD and it's hard to walk around my house because of all the hunters. They shoot at just about anything that moves... lol

I've tried the belly dancing fat burning video and it's definitly a workout...fun...but a workout. I am aiming towards the same goal Lahni. I want to be healthy but mainly I've had 2 kids and I'm tried of weighing 212+ at my 9th month. Plus I want to be able to wear all the sexy pregnancy clothes! I can't walk around my house either for fear of getting shot (although they aren't hunting... ) so I go to a nearby park or I make laps around my house.
