Good Morning Leenie! We started the thread at the same time. Can you remove mine? How was your weekend???

Well, nothing new here. I rested all weekend! Did absolutely nothing. I woke up early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Guess I got too much rest this weekend Working a short schedule today then I have to go to the doctor. I am really dreading this one. I have to have a Rhogam shot since my blood is RH Negative and DH is RH positive. I hate shots of any kind, and I have heard this one is not fun at all. Anyone else had to have this when they were pregnant?? Well, off to grab some breakfast, and I'll be back!

Good morning.

Leenie:

Mrs. H.: Sorry about the shot. It probably won't be as bad as you think. I have never had that one but I have had two cortisone shots into my shoulder and if I can do that anyone can! Hope it goes well.

I am back OP this week if it kills me. Had egg salad and a breakfast sausage this morning *burp* Just can't do that much food in the am. Probably will just go back to the egg salad. Easier to deal with while I am making my lunch etc. Also, have a legal salad and snacks today.
I decided I want 10 gone by Xmas....not sure that is do-able but I am going to give it the old Atkins try. I got on the scale this am....didn't gain as much as I had thought....got some bloat going on now so that number should go down a bit by the end of the week.

OH FORGOT TO TELL YOU!!!!! I have a pair of zip em up boots on today!!!! WOOHOO! I can't believe I actually got a pair to zip up my legs. This isn't necessarily a weight loss accomplishment....just happened thats all BUT I WILL TAKE IT!

Ok, off to work......I took Friday off so I have tons of emails to get through.

Leenie: Enjoy your coffee

Lisa: Sorry to hear about the shot. I've never had to have that so I can't let you know what to expect. I never even HEARD of it before. What's it for?

Jane: I would love 10 pounds gone by Christmas also. But I seem to be stuck again. This last gain was totally my fault. But I thought it'd be gone last week w/being OP. So much for thinking it was water gain! So it's back to trying to struggle to get weight off.

Question: If I start exercising won't I GAIN weight? And how (besides getting it sucked out) can I get rid of the belly flab and the inner thigh? I'm quite happy w/the rest of me If I got those to disappear I'd be quite totally happy. So any suggestions?

Jane: Great that you got those boots on!!! Great job on getting back OP. I know that you can do it!!!

Brenda: Great job on staying OP. The weight will come off soon I am sure! Not sure about your question, so I will leave that for the other ladies! The Rhogam shot is because me and my DH have opposite blood types. Mine is O negative...his is A positive. There is a 50/50 chance on what type the baby will have. If the baby has positive, my blood could make antibodies to try and destroy the baby's blood, because it recognizes it as a foreign material since it's not negative like mine. If the baby has negative blood type like mine then there is no worry. They can't type the baby til after birth, so they have to take the precautions now! Not sure if that made sense or not, but hope it helped I understand it, just not good at explaining it!

Good morning all!

Leenie:

Lisa - i have actually heard of that shot. My Best friend has had it! She is pregnant with her third so she has it down pat these days! It will be fine! The worst part it the thinking about the shot!

Jane: WTG girl with the boots! I need boots and I really want a pair of those too! I have such over developed calves from Ballet as a child and teen that I just dont know if I will ever make it into them! As for the getting back OP, you sound like you are doing well so far! You Can do it!

Brenda: WTG on 7 days op! You are on your way. I know it is a struggle right now, but if you keep it up for 21 solid days.. you wil have a "habit"! You can do it! As for the excercise... If you stay OP and start exercising, you will at most gain a pound or two at the beginning. But once you have been exercising a while (4 weeks seems to be my point) and you have gained about a pound of muscle mass (keep in mind that as long as you are staying OP the whole time you are losing fat while gaining muscle) you will see the big WHOOSH! I have been reading the DANDR book again and doing the classes at Atkins University and both tout excercise. And remember, as we get over 30.. women start losing muscle mass and bone density, exercise helps that prevent that loss! So start moving!

As for me, I am very bummed at a 10 pound weight gain in the last 2 weeks. Although I know most is water and "Swelly Belly" It is still a bummer to me! But I am back on track today. Had my 2 eggs and sausage and 1 cup of coffe. Got my 32 oz bottle of water in front of me and I am raring to go! As soon as I get the kids off to carpool, it is on the treadmill!

Hows everyone else?

Leenie: Hope you had a good weekend, too! Enjoy your coffee.

Lisa: The anticipation will probably be worse than the actual shot -- that's how it always works for me anyway.

Jane: I'm glad you got some boots -- that's great!

Brenda: You are doing fabulous! Great job with being OP for seven days!

Karen: You'll have those 10 pounds off in no time!

Well, I finally decided I needed to get serious about losing the rest of this weight! I weighed in today at 179 -- up three pounds. Like Jane, I'd really like to lose 10 pounds by Christmas. I definitely think it's doable. I just need to get focused! I'd love to hit the 160s soon!

The weekend was a lots of fun, as usual. All play and now it's back to all work. It was a friend's birthday on Friday, so I went to the party and stayed until 4 a.m. We were playing cards and drinking WAY too much, but it was definitely good times! Oh, and besides the drinking, we had pizza. Not exactly OP!

On Saturday, a group went to do karaoke (after eating Mexican food that was definitely not OP). I finally got brave enough to go up with a group and sing "Time of My Life" (from "Dirty Dancing"). I don't think I'll be making a solo appearance anytime soon, though.

Sunday was almost OP, besides a tortilla. So, in comparison to the other days, not bad!

Thanks to Karen for starting the Induction Boot Camp thread! I need some serious butt kicking. Back to seriously eating OP and getting exercise in EVERY day. I know we can all do it!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Take care,
Jina

I'd like to be 10 pounds down for christmas too! What do you all think about a "All I want for Christmas is 10 pounds gone" Thread? It could be a good motivator to get us through Thanksgiving?

Christmas is 6 weeks and 5 days off...

Lisa: I don't remember ever hearing about it before. Interesting though how medicine has come so far in advancements on everything. Let us know how things go!

Karen: Don't sweat (or DO sweat :P ) the 10 pounds. It'll be off in no time and you'll be back on track again!

Jane: Stress and being OP don't seem to mix well. So glug down some water and try and relax. You can do this!!

Jina: Sounds like you had a great weekend. Welcome back on the wagon

Marie: ONLY 5 pieces? That alone I give you credit for. I've downed more than that in a MOUTHFUL So take a bow for at least SOME restraint!!

Well, I choked down some alka seltzer (I can't STAND that fizzy junk) with some diet coke last night to try and ward off this cold. That stuff knocked me for a loop and I sure did sleep VERY well!! But I woke up, got the girls lunches ready, got them on the bus, ate breakfast and danged if I don't feel like I could sleep the day away. I worked, came home and I believe I'm going to take a nap. Only not OP thing I've had is the sugar free cough drop I took for my throat. I've no energy to exercise today. Did I mention I was in bed at 7:30 last night?? Looks like another early night for me!! WHEN I get my energy back I'm going to try and exercise EVERY day that way I can see if I can drop some of this weight that's determined to stick on me yet. Figure it's worth a shot. If it doesn't drop off I'll quit exercising
