Brrrr! I think it may be time to leave the furnace on for the night as it sure is chilly in here this morning. Coffee coming up.

Would everyone please read the announcement at the top of this forum and vote in Suzanne's poll about a possible 3FC Convention. Thanks.

I've nothing official on my plan for today but will manage to find something to do, I'm sure. It is not going to rain so I may get some outside work done. I definitely am back in the wood lugging business as the woodstove is needed in the back room late in the afternoon. By the time the Girls get home, I'll be keeping it going all the time and crabbing if it doesn't last through the night!

Has anyone else bought their Hallowe'en goodies yet? I bought chips two weeks ago and they are still all intact! Of course, they are in the trunk of my car too! I find chips hard to resist but chocolate is even worse so I am not giving it out this year. I bought Rice Krispie squares instead.

The coffee's ready so I'm outta here and will check in later to see who has dragged themselves out of bed.

Good morning, Chickies~~

Last night had a rather interesting time. A bookstore in Atlanta had a booksigning event featuring Alton Brown from Food Network's "Good Eats". Don't know how many of you are familiar with it. He's from right here in Atlanta and he's sort of a hybrid chef/mad scientist. And funny as heck. He spent about half an hour answering questions, then signed books and posed for pictures. There must have been over 300 people there. It was fun, but all that standing has left me with a slight hitch in my gitalong.

Ruth, we haven't bought any goodies yet. But I'm like you, I try to buy stuff that doesn't tempt me.

Not much else new here. Need to go get ready for work.

Hope you all have a great day on the Beach!

Good morning,

No I have not bought ahny goodies yest. My way of handling the problem is to purchase stuff with cocanut. I hate candy with cocanut. It works....

I had a real good day eating yesterday and seem to be back on the wagon. It is a nice feeling. Even though I ahve not lost weight this month I have lost an inch in my abs area and 3/4 inch on each thiegh. go figure..

Mamacita, you kill me.

Ruth, I recall you having edible gifts for Harry in your trunk last Christmas...
No, I'm not buying mine until the night before. I'll eat ANYTHING, regardless of whether I like it or not.

Cac, congratulations on getting back on track!

Bamie, why do they T or T on the 30th where you live? I remember when we lived in a small town. The hunters wanted to change the date because hunting season was starting, and the women wouldn't be able to take the kids out plus hand out candy if the men weren't home. Give me strength.

I have today to myself! I have big plans and lots of energy, so I'm going to get going... hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning all!

Ruth - How are the pups? Were you able to have lots of play time with them yesterday?

Mama - I love Alton Brown. DH and I watch him all the time.

Ellis & Cac and all to come - Have a wonderful day!

Me - I finished out day 1 strong. I worked out, which was good. My breathing is bad again (asthma). I have a sneaking suspion I'll be restarting prednisone. Oh well I figure my eating would be alot worse without SBD. DH has an interview today. Life is good...

Default Hello

Hiya ladies, all is dark here.....I hate early morning! Work is quiet though and that's ok.

I survived week 1 and am pretty happy about that. It's nice to get over the day 4 and 5. After that it seems to get easier. Did a great workout last night, weights and interval training.

Ruth, have a quiet day.. don't plan anything. Keep the treats in the trunck...I'm curious about the trunck thing last year.......

Mama, sounds like your book signing was fun. You better rest your gitalong.

cac, way to be back on the beach!

Bamiegurl, almost a Halloween baby huh? I'm afraid I'd start on that day and eat my way through all the holidays.

Ellis, I'm glad you have a day to yourself. Go get back into bed with a good book.

Under a palm tree, sorry about the asthma thing. Bummer, predinose is a lifesaver but can sure make you feel awful.

Well, I did buy halloween treats yesterday for my cute little crafty thingy I have sitting out ( a witch bowl) but I bought stuff I don't like..well except the Reese's and the twix..... anyway, I'm being tough.

Hope you all have a great day!

It's definately no beach day here. It's pouring in good ol' New England. What a morning. It sounds like everyone is well.

Ruth: We have two bags of halloween candy in my house. One with chocolate and one with fruity skittles and things. They tucked FAR FAR away in a closet so I do not even think about them. It's the only way for me to do it. I LOVE candy.

Under a palm tree: I'm right with ya on the day 1. I too think that I did pretty well yesterday and plan to today as well. I have a tuna stuffed tomato for a snack in about an hour to look forward to. I look at it as Day 1 down, now concentrate on Day 2. Don't think about 13 more to go on Phase I. It's just to overwhelming. Good luck, hang in there.

Everyone else: Have an awesome afternoon. Great to see that everyone is doing well.

I forgot my gym clothes at home (I usually go RIGHT from work so there is no down time) But since I go to Curves I luck out. I will go home and change and go to the one near my home. That is why I love that place. Normally I would have used the no gym clothes as an excuse not to go. No excuses for me anymore!!!! I promise I will go!

Have a great day ladies.

Good morning

I am here, with my coffee in hand...even though it is going to be an all time high today of 95!!! Good lord, I thought it was the middle of October! Sheesh!

Yesterday I went back to the doctor and he has ordered me out of work for another 6 weeks while I go through epidural injections to try and help my back. I want to use that time to focus on getting better and back on track with the SBD and exercising. I have been way off track this past week and feeling the effects of doing so. I feel so tired and everything aches, not just my back.

Hope everyone has a great day!! Ruth, send some of that chilly weather to Austin, TX!!!

Good morning chickies!!

Well, I did it: I dropped TWO pounds this week! Which I was thrilled to see after not losing any last week. I did go to Curves yesterday during lunch and even got up early this morning and walked! I am getting very motivated --- yippee!!

Today I am off to Tulsa for business, but only got one night. I'll be back sometime tomorrow afternoon.

TX -- Glad to hear you are going to make some good come out of your problem!

Amur -- Good for you! I finally went back to Curves last week, and I remembered that I kinda actually like it!

Mama -- I think I know who you are talking about. Is that the guy who gives you step by step instructions for making an omlette, or something simple, while explaining the chemistry behind it? I love that guy!

Ruth -- No goodies here. I will be out of town for business on Haloween, which I was really bummed about b/c it's my first year in a real house and I wanted to hand out candy to the kids, but oh well! No sugar worries for me!

OK, gotta go get ready for my trip and update my siggie -- yay!

Goldiefun... Congrats on your loss! Have a safe trip.

Oh my goodnes TXMOMof3! I thought the doc cleared you to go back? Well I'm glad he is givin you more time to heal. My Mom had those injections one time. I feel very blessed that having back surgery was an option for me and it worked. You take care and don't over due on the exercise!

Amur17...Good for you for not letting the little things stand in your way. Forgettin your clothes would be an easy way out. teehee

RNMOM... I hate the dark mornings as well. Especially with the rain. It was so dark when I took the kids to the bus stop. I also worry about someone not seeing them in the morning. DS catches at 6:30 DD is about 6:50 which is a little better. I hope you have a slow uneventful day at work! (In a good way) teehee

Under A Palm Tree... I hope your asthma does not get to bad. This WOE will get easier as you go along. Phase 1 seems strict at first but once you do it for a while it's easier.

Ellis... Aday to yourself... What will the girl do!

cac... Congrats on your loss! I really need to measure but I don't really want to know!

Mama... I like that guy he is funny. Hope your gitalong returns faster than it left!

Ruth... A day with nothing planned! I can't believe it! I'm sure you'll get into something!

As for me I have to take DD to get her physical so she can play soccer for the High school. Her dream for the past 2 years has been that the HS would call for MS girls to play on the team due to lack of players. Hope everyone has a good day!

Ruth - I picked up Smarties and Tootsie Pops at the grocery store this week. Neither one tempts me. I can eat them but don't feel any desire to so they are easy to resist. Just in case the bags will stay sealed until Halloween. I have read that some town (especially in the Bible Belt) have talked about having Halloween on Saturday this year rather than on a Sunday but we are celebrating on Sunday. Saturday we will be going to a constume party with pumkin carving for the kids. My costume fits great but I probably will wear control top panty hose to try for a flatter stomach.

TXMomof3 - Wow! Austin is hotter than Dallas. We were only about 90 yesterday. I wouldn't mind it a little cooler but I hope it isn't really cold for trick or treating. The weather is impossible to predict this time of year.

Me - My cough is still bugging me. I started back on Azmacort and maybe that will help. It is just one of those ticklish coughs rather than deep in the chest but it sure is annoying. And it makes my coworkers think I need to be home in bed when I feel perfectly fine.

Mamcita - I am so in love/lust with Alton Brown. Luckily the Cute Boyfriend is also a huge fan so I can pretend we're watching "his" show. I've never been to see him in person so I'm super jealous!

It's raining here. For two straight days after 182 days of no rain at all! It's nice but it makes me want to curl up with a good book and snooze! I'm re-reading the Handmaiden's Tale - gosh, what a good book! But instead, I'm at work.... sigh! Why can't I just be paid to be cute?

Evening chickies,

I've been in a training all day for school age drug prevention program "Project Charlie". I'm the Chair at my son's school. I packed celery & laughing cow light, califlower and pistachios and I was fine all day - until I got out of the training and called my boss (who also happens to be my mother) and found out that my complaining teacher was riding her broom around all day harrassing the other teachers and then called to complain about me.

I was so mad that I can't be gone 1 day without all h*&) breaking out that I almost cheated! I was in the grocery store with good intentions and all of a sudden found myself in the bakery, muffin, pie section. I'm such an emotional eater that I literally had to remove myself from the store and re-group. Good news is I'm ok but the whole incident gave me a new perspective on my emotional eating. I was literally in a fog and almost unconsiously ended up in the grocery area that is my biggest weakness. I'm just glad that for the 1st time I was able to have a plan of action to remove myself from the temptation completely until I regrouped. I want to thank you guys for helping me in your own ways. Just reading everyone's posts has helped me tremendously. Thanks to all of you!

I bought special size halloween microwave popcorn for the kiddies. Not very exciting but anything with chocolate would drive me nuts! I also bought "Airheads" not sure what they are but DS assured me they would be a big hit.

I can't respond to everyone but just let me say to all of you who have expressed success this week - congrats!

To those of you who are struggling - like me - hang in there!

I'm a little jealous that I don't know who Alton Brown is. I try not to watch food shows that would make me hungry but he sounds funny.
