Default Together Tuesday

Well good morning ladies,
Eleni-good to have you back, and you are so right about wanting not to do anything, but so much hard not to do nothing when you can't. Had the same problem after the c-section. Having your hobbies will help with some of the time. Sleeping is good too. Wished now I had the sleep.

Susie-hope you are doing great today.

Penny-glad school (1st day) went well yesterday. We are going to go today and buy the rest of brandon school supplies.

Sherri-hope you are doing well. hope you are eating more.

Wanda-you doing ok?

Nita-you too?

Summer-how has the last few days been going? You riding bike anymore.

Me-not much going on, but I think I've reached that point. The point you have to get to, to take things and change them. I was able to turtle yesterday, but it was a struggle. But i've challenged a girl at tops to help motivate me, I do do better with a little competion going on. Not the exact correct reason to lose, but it does get me a head start. I also decided at tops last night that we need a team challenge (game). The lady in charge of the games isn't gaming it sort of speaking. So i'm coming up with a game, time frame, and rules. No clue. I will figure it out. My goodness the ladies at my meeting are something else. We have 3 kops, one is seasonal, the other 2 cannot be on the same team. We have people that don't come every week, they can't be on the same team, you name it. People are just so negitive sometimes. Should of seen the problem we had just picking team. I also did program again last night, guess it's ok, since i'm incharge of it. I sent a calendar around to get people to take turns for program, we had 13 there, not including me, and only 4 people signed up for it. Thanks for the help. It can be so difficult coming up with a program, But i'm thinking I've got some good ideas. Next week, i'm having the ladies bring in one item of clothing either they want to get into, or they want to be too big for them in 2 months, I want to incorporate that with the team challenge somehow. Also for the team challenge, I want to play some games for the teams to get extra points, and I think I'm going to use what I've done for programs on some of the extra points. I'm also having them bring in their favoriate snack. Not meals, snack. Bring in also the nutritional values for it. Also where it fits in their program, example would be a light hostess twinkie is 3 points on weight watchers. Probably a bread or so for the food exchange. They can bring enough to pass, or not, but they will be discussing their item next week.
The the week after that, i want to do a program on emotional eating (triggers). Now if I could just pray, i can get this all in.

Brandon, Garret, and I are going shopping for nephew's birthday, school supplies, dvd, maybe a watch, some shoes, ext. today. See how long i can occupy brandon.

Hi ShortStack: I think it's good that every once in awhile we have to go back and recommit ourselves to our resolve to loose this weight. Let's face it, it takes a lot of time and effort to do this and it takes a lot of motivation. So, if you need to recommit every once in awhile, it's ok.

It sounds like you have a full day planned with the shopping! Hope all goes well and you can keep Brandon occupied for as long as you need to.

About the TOPS meeting. It's so frustrating when there are pepple there that don't want to help out. Just remember that you can't do anything about how other people will behave. We only have control over ourselfs and our reactions to that type of attitude.

Hopefully everyone here can help you out with some ideas for games and programs. I know I'll look for some things for you. It might take me a couple of days but I promise I'll try to help you out.

Eleni, Penny, Sherri, Wanda, Nita, Summer: How are you all doing? Is there anything you need support with. Let's talk about those things as well as our accomplishments so that we can all become "Big Losers"!

I'm doing pretty well right now. I feel back on track and I'm feeling pretty well most days. I have a 3 month check up with my Primary Care doctor today. It will be fun to see how much weight I've lost since I was there last. I don't remember what I weighed but I know I'm down, so that should be good.

Getting things done at a chapter can be very frustating. You always have those that are not willing to do anything.But that is just the way it is. I have a great chapter now but it was not always that way.
I do have an idea that will get your people involved some. My group loves it when I have informal discussion groups. I have a stack of questions /statements on cards about lossing weight /or health/or emotional thoughts. I divide them up into groups of about 6 people. Then everyone is given a card and they talk about what is on their card. It can be done without getting in groups but more people get to paticipate when they are in small groups. This has become something that is done about once a month. You get to learn a lot about your fellow members and also get some good thoughts on diet.
Another thing we do is tell something about ourselves when we do the rollcall. It can be something past present or future. If you have a large group this may take too much time.
We also have a bylaw question asked at the end of roll call. To keep people familier with their bylaws.

I am so sorry the members are not cooperating..... that is the problem in a lot of chapters. Hope you have a wonderful on plan week and a great loss this week! Have fun shopping today. When does Brandon start back???

Eleni...It's so good to have you back with us. Hope you are feeling better and get all the rest that you can. It helps you get well. We've missed you.

Wendy..I think that it would be a good idea if we all posted some of our favorite programs and contests. It would help others and give us good ideas to build on. The lady that was doing our programs used to take her calendar and go up to the members and ask them if they would do one. Most of them had to be asked personally. If they had an excuse, she told them she has plenty of programs to choose from or she had differents dates open for them to choose. It worked pretty well.

I have not been doing good weight wise. I am having trouble wanting to stay OP. DH and I have a high school reunion to attend on the first of Oct. and I wanted to be 10 lbs lighter, but it isn't happening. I know that I need to get OP soon!!

Eleni: I love the suggestions you gave. I'm going to tell them to my program director.

Penny: Glad to hear you are On Plan--I know we are all out here cheering you on...You can do it!!

Nita: There are 5 weeks until the first of Oct. That's 2 lbs a week to get to 10 lbs. How do you feel about setting that as a weekly goal? 2 lbs. Some weeks you might loose more, some weeks you might lose less. But each day that you try; and even if you do fall off plan during the day..get right back on...you will have some sort of a loss and it will feel good! Your outfit will be a little roomier, you will stand a little taller and the confidence that you will project because you worked towards a goal and achieved it, or at least something towards it will make your eyes sparkle and you will smile and people will tell you that you look so good. Confidence is a very pretty thing to wear!

Come on...you can do it! What do you need from us to get on plan?

Thanks everyone for you input, and ideas. They are great.
I agree, we should talk more about program ideas, games, ect. We have a variety of areas covered. We all can't be doing the same thing.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. You are right, if I stick to it, I can lose some of the weight before Oct. I feel like I am ready to do it Now.
