Default Thursday Chat- July 15th

Good Morning Everyone!

Just thought I would get us started this morning since I am up earlier than normal.

Today is finally my day off. Although I only worked an hour yesterday and left. When I got to work I got so sick. At first I thought it was morning sickness, but it kept on and on. I think I had some kind of 24 hour virus or something! I feel better this morning! Just sore from getting sick so much! YUCK! Well, it's off to the doctor. Someone asked yesterday what it was for, just a regular prenatal visit! I just HATE going to the doctor for anything! I'll check in when I get back! Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning Lisa: Good luck at the doctors today. Hope all is well.

Very quiet around here this morning. I am late getting here myself....slow moving this morning. Had to get caught up on some stuff at work.

Not much to report....being lazy this week....not doing my exercises....still kind of stiff and achey....figure I will give my body a break for a few days.
I am eating OP at least.

Well back to work.

Have a great day!

Good Morning.

Lisa, I hope that you feel better very soon and enjoy your day off.

Jane, I hope that you too feel better and enjoy your quite day at work.

Well, I love my new bike so much and I have been riding it a lot. I have been getting up early in the morning to go riding when it is still very quite around here and let me tell you it is so refreshing. It just sets me in the right path for the whole day. It was raining pretty hard yesterday morning, but the thought of not going didn’t even enter my mind, LOL. Boy I had forgotten how enjoyable riding is. So I have been logging lots of equator miles, however I am not seeing any changes on the scale. I looked at my chart last night and it seems that I go through 5 weeks cycles. I lose around 2 pounds in the first week, around 1 pound in the second week, a fraction of a pound in the third week, and no change in the fourth and fifth weeks and then the cycle starts. If my theory holds, this is my forth week, which means no change. Oh well. Have a great day everyone.

Talking Good Morning

It is so quiet around here this AM!

I am just quickly flying through with a post!

Lisa - I hope all goes well at the Doctor today!

Jane - I hope you start to feel better soon! I cant imagine what you must feel like! Take care of yourself!!!

As for me, I am back to running! Feeling pretty good too this morning!

I am really starting to get frustrated though. I cannot get back out of the 160s again! I know it is my body's set point and I am going to have to work hard to get out of it, but sheesh.. I dont know what else to do! it has been 6 months now!

Eating OP no problemo. It is ingrained now I think. I moved on to OWL and the scale hasnt budged at all either up or down. I am faithful to eating 25 grams or less right now.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ill be back later!

Hey Ladies!

Lisa- Any chance of seeing an ultrasound in the near future?...Ive heard those 3d ones are really amazing....

Jane- I still continue to believe that the eating part is the most important....( this means I TOO am not excercising today )

so, we leave today for the big car show and to pick up the wedding pics! ( the car show is in the same town) I woke up at 4:30 to find the DH STILL out working on the car....Im amazed at how much this stuff means to the men ( as I say this I sit drying my nails, letting the dye soak into my hair and trying to keep my toes apart so the polish doesnt smear.....hmmmm who's the fanatic here?) bad scene last night...the guy who had the DH's car interior ( for 6 weeks) screwed around and didnt even try to get it done until yesterday....of course, he didnt get it done and the DH and myself had to go pick up the unfinished parts last night...now....the DH has a quiet, polite southern kind of anger over these thing.....I have a big LOUD california kind of anger going on....the last thing I remember was yelling "SHAME ON YOU!!!: to the guy as we left ( had a little drink uh...or two before we went there so...there ya go) but...it looks as though my man pulled a McGyver and got together on his own last night....

hope everyone has a great weekend ....wedding pics coming soon!!

Rachel - You snuck in on me too! I love to get up and exercise before the rest of the family is up! It starts my day right too!

Marie - I cannot wait to see the pics! men and their cars! My hubby is a Miata lover/owner. Believe me, in the 3 years we have had this car, I have learned more about cars.. But he cannot complain about my crochet habit any longer.. his habit is more expensive! LOL! Enjoy your car show! (BTW, I have the California way of dealing with things too! I grew up and lived in the SF bay area for 33 of my 37 years!)

MrsH: I'm with you -- I hate all doctor appointments! I hope it goes well.

Jane: WOW! I just read how you got injured -- that sounds so painful. I'm sorry! I'm sure you are still very sore.

Rachel: Ooh! I want a bike! It just sounds so peaceful. I've got some great nature trails around here I'd love to take a bike on.

Karen: I'm so impressed you can run so early in the morning. I feel like throwing up if I attempt any exercise before about 10 a.m. Have you tried varying your exercise to get out of your stall? Sometimes that will give your body a kick into gear.

Marie: I'm so looking forward to the wedding pictures!!

Well, I'm still trying to get fully back on track. Last night, DH and I went on a dinner cruise around Tampa Bay. It was so relaxing and fun. I did well on two of the three courses -- salad and salmon, but the dessert was my downfall. I had creme brulee. It comes as part of your meal so I figured I should eat it. (At least that's my pathetic reasoning!) Anyway, that's the last special occassion for a long time -- I've got to stay completely on track.

I found a new walking trail by my new apartment, so I'm excited about that. It's two miles around, which is great. At least I'll get two miles in every time I go there. I can't poop out after one if I want to get back to where I started.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Take care,
Jina

Jane: Hope you are feeling better soon! Maybe the soreness will be gone soon! Enjoy your quiet day at work!

Rachel: Great job on getting the bike and riding it! I bought one a few years ago. I bet I havent' even rode a mile on it yet! Maybe i can get in gear after the baby is born!

Karen: Hope that the stall will pass soon! I applaude you for getting up early for excerising. I could never get up at 5am to exercise! Great job!!!!!

Marie: I have already had 2 ultrasounds. You may have been away at that time. Had one at my last appt. Only because it was a slow day there and the Ultrasound tech was not there. The dr took me in and did a quick one just where we could see the baby and the heartbeat. Well....she shocked the socks off of us cause she thought she saw TWINS. So, needless to say we had to go back the next day for another one. There was only one! They will be doing another one in about 4-6 weeks. Hopefully the little bugger will cooperate and show us his/her stuff! I wanna know the sex..DH doesn't! So guess he will just have to leave the room and hope that I dont' let it slip BTW I am NC born and bred, but believe me, I have the MOUTH when people don't do what they say they will! My DH always says...you take care of it! So guess I have the Calif. attitude with dealing with stuff like that! Cant' wait to see those wedding pics. Have fun at the car show!!

Jina: The cruise sounds really fun! Glad you enjoyed yourself! Have a great day!!

Well, the dr's visit wasn't bad at all. Only thing they really did was ask me how I was feeling, tell me everything looked great and listened to heartbeat! It was beating 162 beats a minute! She said normal range was 150-185, so I was happy! The best part of all is I am DOWN 3lbs since last month! The bad part is the morning sickness all the time is what is causing it. SHe said I should notice a difference in this with-in the next 2 weeks. In most cases it goes away around this time. I sure hope I am like most people! Well, gotta get a few things done, then taking it easy the rest of the day! Hope everyone has a great day, and I'll check in later!

Jina - oh yes.. I shake it up considerably! In fact, that is the whole reason I added running to my routine.. to start cross training... I also do the eliptical, walk and ride the stationary bike for cardio (changing intensity every few days).. and alternate body parts for weights. And I also use different weight routines every 2 weeks to shake things up.. So i dont think that is the problem.

Ive also been tracking my food intake at fitday and I am at always either right at 20 carbs or less. My calorie intake is about 1500 a day sometimes a little more (No more than 100 cals) and sometimes less (no less than 1200 cals)

It makes me crazy...

Lisa - i was sick the entire pregnacy with my son. I lost 25 pounds with him. But I had a gallbalder problem! If the sickness doesnt go away, ask for the suppository. It really helped me with my 2nd pregnancy.

Lisa,

I was sick my entire pregnancy as well, and my doctor told me to take Unisom (the regular kind, not extra strength) every night and it would help me feel better in the morning - and do you know what, she was RIGHT!!

If I *ever* forgot to take it, I could barely make it through the next day standing up - it was awful.

I lost 15 pounds my first trimester, gained 25 my second trimester and didn't gain an ounce my 3rd trimester after being put on a Gestational Diabetes diet. Net gain was about 10 pounds overall. That GD diet worked wonders for me - and it was vastly more forgiving than strict Atkins.

Just throwing my story in there.

StorybookMama:

herb1985: Hope you went to the gym! Good for you. I am a slug this week.

KarenW: You are so good about exercising. I hate it hate it hate it! But I know it is good for me...so I keep on tryin. I really wish I could do yoga but when I took a class I had such a hard time. I am hard of hearing and the instructor was so soft spoken (yoga of course is not aerobics) that I would be so stressed when I left the class from straining to hear her. When I explained this to her she was just I don't know if a home video would be a good idea or not....watching and trying to do......

Mrs H: Isn't that just a kick in the you know what when you have to take the time to go to the docs and all they do is basically say hi!!!! but at least you are doing this for the best of all reasons
I called my doctor today to ask about my headache (which I figure is from the stupid fall and everything). I just wanted to ask....they wanted me to come in....she called and just as I suspected she said it was a migraine from the fall, stitches etc. So if I had gone in and she told me that I would not have been a happy camper.

Jina: I don't think one little creme brulee will hurt! Sometimes we just have to do it. And actually except for the sugar it is all acceptable food....cream, egg.......

Marie: Good to see you.....can't wait for pics. I can just see you walkin out of that place yelling at him

Rachel: Your picture is great! Nice to see a face with the name. Glad you like biking. I am thinking about fixing my old one up and riding it instead of getting rid of it.......hhhhhmmmmmm I hate those helmets!
