Calculation of Points/Calories for canned item packed in fluid
When a food item like canned baked beans is packed in sauce is it OK to drain the item and then take the drained portion and use that to calculate Calories and Points.
For example the drained weight of the beans is 200g.
Is it OK to then divide that by the serving size listed on the can in this case 130g and use that serving size to determine the Calories/Fat/Fiber and thus the points. Or does the fluid have to be included too?
What about canned pineapple? I have canned pineapple and the NI on the can is in mL not in oz or g or something I can weigh. I can't measure the pineapple chunks in mL. I think this is a stupid way to post NI. What do I do for this?
