Default Why are nuts so bad

Does anyone know why you can fill up on meat, chicken, fish, vegies, cheese and eggs with seemingly unlimited amounts but you can only have a small amount of nuts each day? On days that I am physically active I get hungry and want a more substantial snack so nuts are the perfect choice but I can only have something like 20 peanuts a day. I realise that they are high fat but so is meat!

Does anyone have any explanations?

My guess would be the fats are different than those in meats???? I'm bad about counting how many I have since I loooooove peanuts in the shell . I end up eating at least 30-40 I just know it.

I think it's because it's easy to eat a lot of them, and they are quite calorie dense. A diet will only work if it's relatively low cal even though cutting carbs helps. If you're active though, you can probably get away with eating 2 servings of nuts a day. Good luck!

Default Maybe this is my problem....

I've been trying to figure out why I'm stalling or gaining, it's probably the nuts. At first it was just a few, then it was a meal replacement. My favorite is sugar free chocolate jello pudding and a few macadamia nuts in it.

Well, I'm not going to buy anymore nuts for awhile. They are one of the things that I can't have in the house. If I start losing well again, I'll know for sure this was the culprit.

This is why I posted. I have been exercising a bit more just lately and have been extra hungry. Normally I would have some extra cheese for a more substantial snack but I have been eating extra peanuts because I am worried about the amount of saturated fat. The weird part is that the weight has been coming off again. I slowed right down and almost stalled for a week or so but since I've increased the nuts I have been back on track. Perhaps it is the exercise and subsequent extra water consumption but the only thing I have added as far as food goes is nuts!
