Hi Everyone.

Hats off to the 3FC for getting the site back up so quickly. What a lot of time and aggrevation the crash must have cost them.

Judy - Hope your toe is healed.

Karen - Hope you're feeling better.

Bad news, good news for me. The bad news is that I'm up 3.2 pounds. So much for the holidays being a wash. Although I think much of this gain is water - tight rings and alll. Boy did I feel bloated and yucky yesterday. Gave me the kick in the pants I needed to get back OP and eating decently. The good news is that I got in another workout today (stationary bike), so that's three so far for the year.

Have a great day.

Losing all those posts erases all our holiday transgressions! There is no evidence whatsoever that any of us strayed at all!

Sorry about your gain, Carla, but if the rings are tight, you know it's just water! Good for you for getting on the bike and going for a stationary ride.

Judy, hope your foot is feeling okay again.

I haven't been back to work yet, but will go tomorrow. I got some penicillin for my throat yesterday, and it's feeling quite a bit better today. I haven't felt up to doing any exercise yet, but I did manage to get the dogs out for a stroll at the beach this morning, so I'll count that as *something*. My sinuses and ears are plugged solid still.

The scale said 239 this morning, so I'll take that as my starting point for the year.

Have a good day,

Karen

Carla - sorry about the gain. I'm sure most of it is water as you said, and hey, kicks in the pants are good - I know, I got a 6+ kick in the pants and I have been very motivated this week to get as much of it off as possible. WAY TO GO on getting in the third workout for this week - just one more to go for your promise (notice I've changed the goal to a promise - it's the drill sargeant in me;-) of 4 per week. May I make a suggestion? Get in as many as you can and feel you can do without overdoing, even if it's a stretch workout. That way you have some "in the bank" for when you will inevitably not feel well, get swamped with something, etc.

Karen - I'm glad that you got antibiotic for your throat. I definitely think walking the dogs counts as a workout but you are right to be careful about not overdoing it. There is plenty of time to "catch up". I'm sorry to hear about your sinuses and ears - that must be really uncomfortable.

My toe is OK but when I tried to do a step workout yesterday it began to hurt after about 15 minutes so I stopped and stretched (but I'm still counting it!). I did yoga today which was OK. I'm seeing the podiatrist tomorrow so I may take that as a rest day. I may try the treadmill next - walking, no incline and no running. Maybe I can do that until I can get back to my "usual".

Things are going well on the food front. I'm still doing Fast Track (Karen, send me your email address or fax number - let me know if you need mine - if you want me to send you a copy of it) and doing OK. The sneak peeks have been very good so I'm hoping for a good weigh in on Saturday.

Off to make my lunch for tomorrow.
Have a great one!
Judy

P.S. Three cheers for the 3FC's for getting everything back so quickly.

Hi all.

It's a late night posting for me as I'm not certain that I'll have a chance to post tomorrow.

Karen - I like the way you think - if there's no written evidence of our holiday eating, then we didn't do it. I'm glad to hear that your throat is feeling better, but sorry to hear about your ears and sinuses. Yikes, that's got to be uncomfortable. I hope they get better soon. Hey, I'd count the stroll as something, definitely.

Judy - Well, I did make a promise and you should hold me to it. I'm hating the bike, but loving the post-exercise high. I definitely plan on getting in a couple more workouts this week. I'm not counting Saturday's workout as part of this week's four, just so I'm not tempted to slack off (although it's included in the total). I know that if this is going to be a habit with me, I have to be consistent. Hey, 15 minutes of step and then some stretching is a workout in my book. Glad to hear the toe is feeling better. And kudos on doing well on fast track.

I'm logging a good OP day today. I'm ending the day a couple of points under target (which of course means I haven't used my activity points), I've gotten in all my fruits and veggies, and also checked off my milks. Now to keep it up.

I noticed that I gave myself an extra ten pounds on my stats above. Since I certainly don't need them, I"ll correct my stats below.

Good night.

Carla

Hi all,

I dragged myself in to work today, I was feeling not so bad this morning, but as the day wore on, I realized I've overdone it, and left to come home at 3 p.m. My throat is sore again, I'm coughing and miserable and should quit whining!!!

Carla - gotta love that instant 10 lb loss! You sound as though you're right into the groove again. Way to go on planning on a couple more workouts!

Judy - I lost your email add. when my computer crashed a while back. You can email me at [email protected] if you wouldn't mind sending along the FastTrack info. I need to follow your lead and make my lunch for work the night before. I tend to leave it till morning, then 1/2 the time don't take anything and end up buying something.

I'm looking forward to feeling better - I'm sick of being sick!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Karen

Hi all,

Karen - I hope you're feeling better today. I also hope you stayed home to rest up some more. Whatever you have, it sure is wicked. Yeah, that 10 pound instant loss worked for me too. I should inflate and then deflate my weight more often.

I had a good day yesterday, although I did use my activity points and some flex points. Oh well, that's what they're there for. I got in a workout yesterday and another one today, so I hit four for the week. I might try to go for a walk this weekend, weather permitting. Other than that, no big plans, which is fine by me.

Have a great day and a terrific weekend.

Carla

Carla - yippee that you got your 2 workouts in! You're doing great.

Jen broke her ankle last night. She missed the curb stepping off the bus. Poor thing. I'm heading over to Victoria to bring her home for the weekend. She has a slab cast on for now, and they won't know the extent of ligament damage until they see her again. Keeping my fingers crossed that she won't need surgery.
Poor kid!

Still feeling lousy, but worked this morning. I'm going in for a couple of hours tomorrow to make up for my missed afternoon. Food hasn't been a problem as I haven't felt up to eating much anyway. Exercise starts next week.

Have a great weekend.

Karen

Carla - congratulations on making 4 workouts this week! Fabulous job! Your drill sergeant is proud of you!

Karen - sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well and I'm very sorry to hear than Jen broke her ankle! I'll keep my fingers crossed that she doesn't need surgery. My email is [email protected] - please send me your snail mail address or a fax number. I don't have the Fast Track info electronically - I'll have to send you a hard copy.

I've been doing well except that I seem to have caught Tony's cold (or from the kids in school). I woke up with a bad sinus headache yesterday and feeling yucky so I took a sick day. I'm taking Zicam - hopefully it will help lessen the symptoms and prevent the cold from going to my chest. I did not exercise Thursday or Friday but I did do a little upper body strength today so that makes 4 workouts for me this week.

Have a great one,
Judy
