Question Nutrition information for chai tea?

Does anyone know this? Today I decided to try a chai latte w/skim milk and I'm wondering if anyone has a rough idea what kind of calories, fat, cabrs and protein are in it. I'd like to record it in fitday, but I don't have any idea how to estimate!

If it isn't too bad, this could be my new favorite treat!!!!! It was especially good today because we have a very cold, brisk and windy day here in SW PA.

Hi Lmaxin -

I don't normally post here, but I can answer your question. It will vary a little based on the brand. Here's the info for Oregon Chai (my personal favorite)

Per 1/2 cup serving:

Calories - 78
Carb - 18 g
Sodium - 8 mg

** note: that's just for the chai - not for the "latte" part

That's it. No real nutritional value. No protein or vitamins. Nothing.

I have started making my own chai lattes using chai tea bags (0 calories in tea) and then using sugarfree vanilla syrup to sweeten it and heavy cream or half & half to give it that latte taste.

Thank you both! Starprincess, I think I may borrow your recipe!!! What a tasty treat!

Jenne - I think for this case I will use your nutrition information. It seems closer to the drink I had! Mine was very sweet, so I'm sure it had quite a bit of sugar!

I got it from the database, www.calorieking.com

It's a great site! Pay only now for personal info but the database is free!

Imaxin, hey I work at a coffee shop and we do lots of chai's. Our's are made with oregon chai, most people drink it regular with whole milk but I have a lot of customers that drink it 'skinny' obviously made with skim milk. Since I'm doing ww I count a 12 oz skinny chai as 2 points. If ya'll need any more coffee info, let me know. There are so many things that I won't even touch anymore now that I know how bad they are!

Jenne - that site rocks! Thanks for sharing! This will be a great supplement when fitday falls short!

Jamie, I had a 16 oz. skinny chai (I missed lunch, so splurged). I'm going to estimate it at about 3 points.
