Hi Ladies!!!!!!!!

Joanne thanks for the comment about your hip locking. Wasn't sure what was going on with me and it's been scaring me. Finding lately that if I sneeze while walking I seem to lose control of my balance/legs. Not a good sign. Glad that I have the appointment with the Spine Clinic next week. Getting scared that something new has shown up.

Went for the interview today. Had to take a test and they told me about the jobs offered. Not sure if I want the ER job. I'd be the lead intake person and I don't know if I'd like that. Too soft hearted I guess and let's face it, no one coming into the ER is there for a good reason. We'll have to see. Both positions are part time..alternating weekends so I won't have as much stress on my back if I do take it.

Feeling kind of blue today. Guess it's one of those days. Frustrated with myself and my inability to get my weight in control. Can't even seem to make a start at it. Got a real bad case of the "why bothers?".....Not a good place to be.

Well enough of my pity party......I'm annoying myself. Hope this finds you all well. Hope you have a great weekend.

Deb

Default Hey There

Grasshopper- We all get those 'why bother'feelings. Tell yourself" do I want this food/snack more than I want to lose this weight?" My sister has been doing that and it is helping her. I will start doing that too. I have been really staying on program. It is getting really boring. I have such a little bit to lose and that is what is keeping me on the path. I turtled this week. I should have lost, but, I haven't really been up to walking. My knees said wait awhile. You will probably feel better out in the work force. Hope your back will let you..
Hello everybody. Have a good weekend...Joanne

Hi everyone....weekend....YES!!

Joanne....sorry you're not enjoying your walking....as you were. Maybe you'll get back at it before too long. Don't kick the hubby! Some husbands really fight their wife about getting hair colored, nails done, etc. We've got it pretty good, I think. My DH told someone the other day that it had been so long, now, he didn't know what my "real" hair color is. Hey...we're close to the same....I'm a Champage blonde! I don't know where they ever got it that blonde's have more fun, though!

Grasshopper....Yes, I've had my thigh to lock up. Pretty painful. It would be when I had walked more than I really should have. I figured it was from my back problems....never mentioned it to the dr. Hope you can get some help at the Spine clinic. Hope you're over the blues. We all get that way on a diet. Sometimes, when I got that way, I take a couple of days off....then, go back on it. I wouldn't feel so deprived, & it helped. As far as the "why bother"...remember your back....that 42 lbs has made such a difference to my back! It'll be worth it...hang in there. Wish you luck on the decision of your job.

You girls have a good weekend.

Good morning ladies. Hope your are all fairing well today.

Grasshopper - I have had that hip joint lock as well, but then I have arthritis in the hip. Sometimes if I sit to long, on somedays, the hip joint locks when I get up and then pain is terrible. Can't even move. Thought about taking my cane with me in the car, just so I could get some kind of balance. Hope it's better now.

Angel - Another blond here. I think all women past the age of 50 are now blond. Blends best with gray. I am a golden blond. The only problem with that is at times I feel colorless, less my hair and face blend together. This last time, I had some streaks added and it is much better. I am pretty fair skinned.

Joanne - Hi. Gosh I hope your knee comes round for you again so you can get back to walking.

I have lost 10 pounds, but had to start to add a few carbs back into my diet. I have been having heart Palipitations steady for over a week. Did some research on the net re: heart Palipitations and low carb diets, and found many who have had this problem. Something to do with Potassium. I was eating lots of veggies and fish that all have lots of Potassium. I was 1 1/2 weeks into Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet.

Yesterday, I decided to add a banana and 2 slices of bread and the palipitations were much, much better. Trying that again today. If it is still continuing, then I WILL go to the Dr.

Default Hey There

Happy- You are doing well with the SBD. Don't get sick though. I take meds for an irregular heart beat.. I haven't any problems except for having hunger pangs and cravings. My snacking habit is hard to break. I didn't lose last week so back into the book I went and found that I was eating some things I shouldn't.
Angel- I still like walking. I just can't get out as often as I used too. My knees hurt somedays. So I rest a day and go again. It is my time alone and I don't want to give that up.I like walking out to the beach and seeing the Gulf and the surrounding area. The birds. Sometimes a dolfin or two, people fishing, etc.
Grasshopper- How are you? Did you take the job? How is your hip? better I hope..
I had a quiet day today. Stay well everybody....Joanne

Hi everybody....been busy for a couple of days. Had 2 grands & a DIL with birthdays over the weekend....all in same family. Poor son! I'm about partied out.

Grasshopper...guess you've made decision on job by now...tell us about it. Forgot when you dr appt is. Have you gone for it yet?

Joanne...I understand about the "alone" time. Seems that I need more of it as days go by. I hope your knees get better. Wish I could go to a beach for awhile & just stare at the water & do nothing. DH & I went, at least, once a year to Gulf Shores during off season, just to be able to do that. After this happened with our house, we don't have a chance to go. Maybe later.

Happy Canuk...I was golden blonde for awhile...then it started turning kind of red. Champagne Blonde helped me with that. Red is pretty on most people, but not me. I'm ALSO very fair skinned.

Gotta start breakfast for hubby....all have a good day.

Default Hey There

Angel..I read a lot. I read about people who live miles from towns and neighbors. Sometimes I long for that kind of life. Although I might not want it after a certain lenght of time..I like being alone though..My hour alone is very healthy for me..I hope I am never forced to give it up...Joanne

Hi Joanne...
I love my alone time, too. The best time is when I get up very early (wake up & can't go back to sleep). I get on the pc & drink coffee. Just do "whatever". Usually, it 's the time I do my posting. The house is quiet....of couse, since the kids are all married, it's quieter....but, still have DH to make noise & messes. I'm glad I have him....just like quiet time.
I bought myself a digital camera. Been playing around with it. It has a self-timer...so I took pics of myself yesterday. Had fun here, all alone....posing. I learned a lot with it, though. Believe some nice pictures can be taken, with a little practice. May post a pic of our 2 pets....our horses.
I think everyone else has deserted us! Maybe not....I really miss Silk. Hope she's ok.
Hope you're able to get back to walking. I know you love it. Some people take for granted things that we would give almost anything to be able to do. It's hard to understand, sometimes, why we can't enjoy the simplest of pleasures. I also, get ashamed, too, though, when I see someone worse off than myself. I need to stop having "pity parties".
I live out in the country. You might enjoy being here....until you go to missing your beach. I'm about 12 miles from town. Have neighbors about 1/8 mile on each side. They're friendly....but, stay to themselves. Have a convenience store/gas station down the road. Just a wide spot in the road....as they say. We've lived here over 15 yrs, & really like it.
Guess I'll go & finish DH's breakfast. Have a good day. Hope you feel well.
If anyone's lurking.....HOW 'BOUT POSTING?!
