Harry and I just came back from a very thorough check-up with our wonderful doctor. Harry has had a small stroke (TIA) which is causing the confusion and memory problems. His meds have been reviewed and changed slightly and he will be having a CT scan to determine just how much brain damage has occurred. In the meantime, no driving for him and no alcohol with dinner. It's the end of an era!
So I am once more in the role of caregiver and will just have to deal with it. The doc hopes the dementia will disappear as the brain circuits renew themselves. The scan and further observations will tell us if this is going to happen.
Cherish your normal lives, chickies. They can disappear in a second!
Thank you all so much for your love, support, prayers and good thoughts. They mean so much to me.
Ruth, I just read about this on our other website so it's all news to me. I'm so sorry you and Harry have been having such a time of it. I hope he enjoys a full recovery. Many hugs to both of you.
I'm so sorry, Ruth - I will keep positive thoughts for the outcome of the CT scan. Please know that you have lots of cyber friends praying for you both.
Ruth...my thoughts and prayers are still with you. My husband suffered a series of TIA's several years ago and experienced the same symptoms as your Harry. He also had some mild paralysis on one side. With 6 weeks of PT he has almost fully recovered. Infact, anyone that didn't know would never realize what had happened. Keep faith and hang on. You are so right. Life can change in the blink of an eye!!
