Default Any advice for dealing with phentermine/adipex side effects?

I posted this in another thread but it's not getting any traction so I'm reposting as a new question since it is a new question

Hi all, I'm back after a long break. I decided to get serious about my weight loss goals and asked my doctor for phentermine. It's been a week and my appetite has crashed. Like today, I made a big-ish salad for lunch and I ate 3/4's of it before I felt over full. I've spent the rest of the day with an unrelenting stomachache. So much so that I have had to lie down. I've had all the less serious symptoms and I wonder, will they go away after some time? I'm going to power through this first months prescription as long as I don't have serious side effects. I'm wondering if I'm going to feel bad the entire time. Anybody out there who's experienced this? How did you cope? I know I'm gonna lose weight because at this moment, I think dinner will consist of a tablespoon of yogurt.

I haven't taken Phentermine, but maybe a good idea would be to eat small meals throughout the day the way weight loss surgery patients have to? It seems like you are having trouble with a big meal so try smaller ones.

Default My experience

Thanks Clawlady!

I've learned some things now that I've been taking this for about a month. The pharmacist told me to take this with breakfast but after having done some research, it's actually recommended that it be taken two hours before breakfast or one hour after. I've been taking it two hours before breakfast and it seems to have really helped me turn a corner on how bad I'd been feeling. At this point I am feeling better and able to eat 1200 calories.

Anyone else have any input? It will be welcome.

I had a stroke at 41 after using phentermine. A side effect I could do nothing about.

Pills are not the answer.
