Question Losing fat but not weight.

First of all HI, I'm new here and I've been doing a lot of research to see if there is a solution to the problem I'm having. The problem I'm having is that I've been losing fat all over my body yet whenver i weight myself the difference is very minimal, however i know I have been losing a lot of fat since ive dropped in sizes. in the 3 months that ive started my diet which has consisted of eliminating Breads, Starches, Sugars, and my worst enemy drinks like coke and sprite. As far as exercise i do the usual which is cardio as well as lifting. Ive noticed a lot of changes in my body such as slowly getting rid of my muffin top and my arms getting more defined and yet the scale has moved very little. I started at around 280-285 and now im at 257-260 and i have been getting more strict with my personal diet.
I guess my main question is if this is normal, to hit a point where the weight loss becomes a lot slower or should i change my diet and exercise routine. Also ive been staying under 1400 calories a day.

Hi Enrique. Yes, your situation is very common among people who lift heavy weights.

You didn't mention how tall you are. You might have a few more pounds to drop, depending on your height.

If so, if you feel like you need to lose more fat, you need to shake up your routine. Your body is getting used to your eating and exercise routine.

You might want to try a low carb/high protein diet such as Keto. It will send your body into burning fat mode, but you will still have plenty of energy to lift heavy after you adapt to it (the first week is hard).

Have you had your body fat measured yet? It's a better measurent than the scale.

Best wishes on your journey.

Sounds like you have had a 20 lb weight loss in 3 months! Sounds great! And you've gone down sizes. All of that is great progress. It sure what you may need or want to change or do, but I just wanted to say congrats.
