This has got to stop! I have gotten lost and can't seem to find my way back to the beach! Nothing earth shattering, but we all know that you can stray only so far before you see the negative effects, right?
And reading the posts over the past couple of days has me convinced I am in very good company. Some smart chick (sflake, maybe?) suggested an exercise challenge to get us back on track. I think that is a wonderful idea, but would like to take it a step further and have an all round, back to the beach challenge!
Not a competition, but a friendly supportive challenge to spur us on? I just woke up so my brain cells are not at top speed and I don't have an idea as to how it would work, but I'll see if I can't think up something.
In the meantime, how many of you would be interested in "Beach Boot Camp"? And I need your ideas, too! We can do this, ladies...we just need a major kick in the rear!
I agree that it should be a challenge and not a competition. We need something to help keep us accountable daily on food, exercise, water and something for your mental health (bubble bath, walk on beach, coffee on the deck, yoga, etc).
Maybe an icon system could be incorporated, such as:
food =
water =
exercise =
mental health = or :
If you accomplished your daily goals , you get the icon; if not, then you get a .
We could post our accountability at the end of each day or the following morning.
Can we start tomorrow? I'm horribly depressed, and am going up to my bed with a book and a bag of Bridge Mixture. Sweet DH has taken the children to see a movie so that I can regain my sanity. (well, not that I ever HAD it, but you know...)
I'll do anything you say. Tomorrow.
Count me in too! For some reason this week (I have no idea why ) I've been eating more than I should.....mostly legal food, just high volumes of it. And I have to confess, last night I did have some peanut M&Ms
I just got home from a hectic day and my mind is dazed, so don't have any suggestions on how we can do this. I do like what Sil has suggested. If I have to come here and document what I eat and do all day, I might get back on track. And I agree with Ellis....let's start tomorrow!!
Really busy lateley and haven't been on track, but I am ready to start again,,Good idea,,ready to start tomorrow w/exercise and diet,,,Thnks for the motivation!!,,,,GOFISHIN
Sil, burp, you DID just make me feel better. urp And you too, Sflake. Thank you for the hugs, girls. They are MUCH appreciated.
Now that I've eaten a small bag of Tostitos and a bag of Bridge Mixture, I feel well mentally; not so well physically. burp
Blah. What the heck was I THINKING!?
I usually have a nervous breakdown at this time of year... should be fine in about a week. Thanks for caring, dear girls. :grouphugs:
Count me in. TheHoneymoon phase is coming to an end. This is usually when I start to get bored and stray. Besides I love those little icons. Wish I knew how to do them.........Julie
I like Sil's ideas about posting our goals and how well we meet them. I think the goals should be behavior based, and not a weight loss goal per se.
For example:
My goals for today are:
1. Drink more water than yesterday...at least 2 quarts.
2. Do 3 mi WATP tape.
3. Eat some protein for breakfast.
4. Find at least ONE NSV (non scale victory) to celebrate!
5. Try a new, healthy recipe.
Then the next day, or later that same day, we can post our results:
1. I flooded myself with water!
2. I had class tonight and didn't get my exercise in!
3. I had a yummy tomato frittata!
4. My hubby told me my butt looks smaller!
5. No time to try anything new today...tomorrow?
Okay, this is just an idea. I know I just need a push (or a shove) in the right direction. I also like the idea of challenging each other in small, but meaningful ways. Things like trying a new activity, or a new recipe. Or maybe a new veggie! Or thinking about all the positive things we are doing for ourselves? You get the idea.
No reason we can't start tomorrow. If I get a chance later at work I will post my goals for tomorrow and get the ball rolling. Remember to keep your goals realistic and attainable...we want to SUCCEED!!
So all of you think of your goals for tomorrow and how you want to do this...because we CAN do this!
SQUADRON....DISMISSED! I knew those years in the Air Force would come in handy oneday!
