Good morning, didn't see a thread started for our weekly so I figured would start it up.
Didn't do so hot on eating this weekend found some cookies, I should know better than to buy those for the family, I can't seem to resist them. So back to op eating and not bringing stuff into house
Today is wfh and I have a couple of conference calls on the agenda.
Good morning I was here earlier but wasn't awake enough to start the thread. I feel your pain I am the same way with chips, even the healthy ones. I have no excuse since I'm the only one here. Yet they seem to find there way into the house at times lol. I kicked myself into gear this morning and got a much needed workout in. I could feel a major case of the lazies coming on lol.
Late to the party but I'm here. For some reason, my laptop locks itself overnight sometimes. I have to unplug everything and let the battery run down and then start it up again. By the time that happened, my DD was up, we had coffee and then I dashed off to quilting for a while.
It's semi-rainy today but Mae has gone out to walk the pups who just adore her. We'll probably visit the next town this afternoon - crafts and antiques - and then will have some friends in after work for a wee wine and cheese kitchen party.
It feels like I'm on holidays with M here and I love it!
Good evening, another busy Monday for me. During October and November I work after school with my Robotics team which makes me home late twice a week; today I had planned leftovers in order to accommodate some sort of workout when I got home. I didn't do much last week when I was fighting my cold.
Pearlrose, I have to train myself to have A treat on the weekend rather than a weekend of treats! There are too many Mondays when my weight is up. Hope you had a good day.
Jennifer, sometimes I think it would be easier if I could control all the food buying. At least then I would have to be accountable! Glad you got your workout in.
Ruth, hope you and DD enjoyed the day. It must be very nice having her come stay.
Rainy today but it looks to be sunny and warmer the rest of the week. This impending change of seasons makes me cold just to think about it.
Hello! I just got home. Left work and picked up mom and took her to dinner. She lives a block away and is pretty much in cabin fever with this road project right now. From now on and off my feet. Work is early tomorrow. Kelly is learning things really quickly. We are developing our own sign language for her. She is so eager to please and is just a doll.
I pretty much don't buy treats for Kirk and less I understand I appointment on eating them myself. I baked him cookies when he got back from Alaska. He Enjoyed a few and I ate the rest. LOL
Just a quick pop in before I head off for work. Nothing special on the agenda today but it looks like it will be sunny so maybe I can spend a little time outside when I get home.
Debbie, it's nice to hear Kelly is learning quickly! Nothing like a new furry friend to liven up the days. Have a good day at work!
Dinner time check in and I am enjoying a kale, bean and quinoa dish. Has anyone ever tried Grainful frozen meals? IMHO they are really yummy and healthy. I always have a few on hand which help me on those what should I eat nights lol.
Debbie our K-9 unit trains with hand signals. Many times they can't use their voice so as long as they are in eye contact with their partner it works great!!! Glad Kelly is acclimating nicely. We had a wonderful dog who was blind from birth. He lead a wonderful doggie life for 12 years with us.
Beth I remember your robotics team from last year. I hope this year is just as much fun for you and your team. I laughed at your comment "train for A treat." I think we are all guilty of giving in to temptation at times. But as long as we keep getting back on track that's the key.
Ruth I am so happy you are enjoying DD's company. It was nice having wine in the afternoon with my mom and aunt. I guess I'm officially a grown up when my mom offers me wine lol. My grandma on the other hand would never allow me to have a beer with her even though I was of age. She did the drinking and I was her chaperone lol. Beer and scotch, she was a tough cookie!
Pearlrose enjoy having nothing on the agenda Most days you are running crazy so enjoy today.
I think I am suffering from vacation brain. I managed to lock myself out of my office. My admin let me in. Apparently silly me had no idea one key opened both locks....duh....then today I went to feed the dogs and dumped their food in the water dish. They let me know I screwed up. Guess they don't like their food mixed with that much water lol. I tried out my new Camelbak today. I kept thinking this is stupid having to take a cap off to get water....this is why they have directions, apparently I was supposed to make a slit in the cap. Lol it works so much better now.
Time to get my food set for work tomorrow. Have a great evening.
Today is the last full day for Mary-Ellen and I. We are trying to decide whether or not to do more touring and are leaning towards a day at home just hanging out. I feel like I've been on vacation too. My dogs have been thoroughly spoiled.
Hi everyone. I was on this thread some years ago. I was wondering is there a place to find meal plans for SB, where actual everyday foods are eaten. (I guess normal foods.) And is 2008 the actual last update to the allowed foods for the SB plan.
If I do this I have to start from scratch and I am a little worried doing that on my own. My life has changed a lot since last looking at SB, and it is funny to end up here again. Thank you.
I will let others chime in but the 2008 food list is the most recent. We used to have a "what's for dinner" thread (look back at June) if that is what you mean by
"meal plans". There are certainly TONS of recipes. I would really encourage you to reread the book if at all possible; and feel free to post menus if you want feedback.
Maybe with the change of seasons we should resurrect the Dinnertime thread....
Wfh day for me, went for a walk outside it was a bit dark but it was nice with all of the stars out and I saw someone else running so wasn't the only one out there Working on reports today but should be kinda of slow day for me. Nothing on the agenda this evening which is fine by me.
Chickadee I remember you from before as well. Don't think anything has been updated recently might have a few more recipes listed, but I agree with Beth re- reading the book would be best and then use the food stickies for reference and recipes.
Thank you ladies, I have the SB book from 2003 and the Supercharge book from 2008. I will assume I should use the 2008, right.
Are most of you maintaining or are you activity trying to lose? I need support for getting the plan going and day to day huddles. So is this the place I need to be or does anyone know of another group that might help. I have aged and with age has come some health issues and the stress is my life right now is unbelievable, but I know I need to get myself on track weight wise so I feel good about myself and I think the rest will fall in place and be livable. An I looking for too much!
It is apple picking season here, and I have already harvested three trees (leaving some behind for the deer) and I have one more tree to go - I feel like I have apples coming out of my ears! It was a good year for them here.
I got chuckles when I got my snow tires put on last week but today we have snow. Granted, not much here but road have already been closed up above twice for accidents. Oh, well. I think my flowers are done for the year. I've missed the past few days just too much stuff.
Yesterday I went to Denver for moms appointments and today go down to take care of my own stuff. Back issue is slowly improving I'm being very careful.
Welcome back, Chickadee! I have been maintaining successfully on my original loss. I feel that is a great success and a testament to SBD. In the last 6 weeks I buckled down and have lost my maintenance regain of 5 plus 5 more. It really works for me. I will be 59 in March. My goal is to slowly inch down 160 would be super realistic for me as a long term happy weight. Until then, I focus on eating healthy and not gaining more than 5 without getting back to serious. For me, a 20 pound regain before getting back to it is not where I want to be. I have a continual super stressful life which has been continuous the past few years. I have found a way to remain calm through it all and "just" the daily check in works to keep me mindful. I don't follow meal plans, etc. I find it pretty simple since it's just DH and I and often he's gone. I make things we both like that are OP for me and then I add in extras for him...he actually needs to gain.
