Default Christmas Eve 2015

Twas the Day before Christmas
And all through the house
Were things to be done
And I need a tall spouse!

I do have food and drink but there is still some cooking to be done, some gifts to wrap and general organizing needed. I'm sure I will be able to "manage to fill the time" until my guests arrive after 7 PM. I'm planning tot take an hour's break noonish to pick up the veggies and fruit trays, the table flowers and deliver two gifts. The high-up decorating - the diningroom light fixture - may just not happen. It'll still be Christmas!

No matter what's on your list today, take time to remember Christmas past and Christmas yet to come.

Bwah ha ha ha! My spouse is 6'2", which is great since I'm only 5'4" (I did gain an inch with surgery! woo hoo!)

I'm going to try to get my last minute groceries early before the store is insane. I'll try to precook some stuff today to ease me for tomorrow, and maybe DH can enjoy himself instead of being a good housewife .

XOXO!!

Ruth I loved your poem! Sounds like you are in great shape for tonight. Have a wonderful time.

Going in early today in hopes of coming home early to spend time with DS. It's nice to have a little flexibility with my schedule. I do need to send a couple of more cards. Two cards received yesterday were "first timers" which were a nice surprise.

In case I don't get here later or tomorrow, Merry Christmas. Hope everyone has someone to share the holiday with.

Good morning

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas like I use to know in Montreal. Dh was in university in New Brunswick and it was so exciting when he came home and the snow was always there.
Merry Christmas everyone, its all about love for the people around you.
take care

Good morning,

Last wfh day it will be a shorter one, I do need to run to Post office to put a hold on our mail for next week (almost forgot about it).

DD2 works tonight so we will celebrate when she gets off in the morning and then she goes to bed and DS and GF will arrive and then we all leave the next morning to go to Denver for the week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas if I do not have time to get on tomorrow.

Good morning Yesterday was a long day for both of us. Surgery was successful and the cancer is gone. Closing was complicated though, thanks to the first doc's mess, so we were there for 6 hours. It looks like I will need another procedure to get rid of the webbing from doc #1's first attempt. We were hoping to get it all done in a day. DH hasn't been feeling great, and sitting in that waiting room all day didn't help. On the way home we were able to find a lovely turkey for tomorrow. Our original plan was veggie lasagna, but when DH's stomach is off, lasagna isn't the best choice. If he is better I'll just switch New Year's dinner which was supposed to be turkey There will be good food no matter the situation. Meanwhile I'm enjoying the extra avocado. My chiropractor recommends an avocado a day while the surgical site is healing to help with scarring. Most days I can eat a half, a whole seems like a lot!

Life is good here. I am remembering many other Christmas Eves, most happy, with loved ones both here and gone.

Ruth - Love that poem Our house has low ceilings, so I can reach every space with just a step stool. Sounds like a lovely day ahead.

Tammy - precooking sounds like a great idea. DH is working tomorrow theoretically (last year they called him off half an hour before his shift because they had low census) so I will have a day to prep stuff. Do the kids help much in the kitchen?

Jennifer - Enjoy your family time

Sophie - So true, we get distracted by the pretty, shiny, new things but it really is all about appreciating and being with those we love. thank you

Rose - Sounds like a busy 24 hours!

I can only see out of one eye right now so enough typing. Probably shouldn't have let myself roll over during the night. Oops. I'm going to enjoy another cup of coffee and wait for DH and the little dog to get up so we can go enjoy the warm day.

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve, chicks!

I am ready for this holiday; got a lot of cooking done yesterday and DH and I even addressed cards. Today will be all about enjoying the family.

Pearl, can't you request a mail hold online? I think I have done it before.

Ruth, all my boys are over 6 foot; very handy when I need to reach something.

Cyndi, hope you heal quickly.

To all the other chicks, have a great holiday and safe travels!
