Good morning! I hope someone has some good coffee to pass this way because I am stuck drinking decaf instant! My Keurig is going through some sort of purge since it's vinegar enema didn't work well. I tried some power stuff in it last night and it is making delicious cups of cloudy water! * Sigh! *
Big day ahead with set-up for tomorrow's Fall Festival. Luckily we will probably have a sunny day although the temps sure took a tumble this week. We were getting spoiled with the extension of summer. I'm having a hard time getting my head around what to wear these days as I still have summer stuff hanging around.
I did get the Fair schoolwork and prizes to two schools yesterday. Depending on how set-up goes today, I may be able to get two more done this morning. I had planned to do the rest on Monday but have a Quilting Biddies meeting that day - guess it'll be Tuesday on my way to get a haircut in town or else it can all wait until after my mini-beach holiday.
Just checked and the Keurig is spewing nearly clear water so a mug of real coffee isn't far off!
I can make another pot Ruth, Vermont Coffee Company dark roast.
Not a lot going on here, just getting things done before the vacationette next week. Tomorrow I'm going back down to Boston to hang with the babe while DD and SIL work on their move. I love spending the day with him, even if I pay for it Sunday with a double To Do list.
Right now I'm just happy the hurricane is moving out to sea instead of up the coast, and there is no frost in our 10 day so more time to get things done
Cyndi, I'm glad you get to spend some time with your precious grandson! He's at the really fun age right now, isn't he?
I'm thankful the hurricane decided to head out to sea, too. We don't need that on top of the heavy rain and wind we're having in the meanwhile. Many schools have even decided to close for the day. I had planned to take my dad on a drive to Hershey and have lunch at a popular restaurant there, but I think we'll wait for another Friday later in the month for that, and find someplace local, instead. He did mention wanting to get some pears, so maybe we'll drive up to our favorite orchard, instead.
It looks like a good morning for a bowl of oatmeal and more coffee. I wish I would have soaked some oats last night!
Good morning. I remember hurricanes from my youth in New England but now in the Midwest it is mostly just tornadoes to contend with
I'm working out this morning with my mom and trainer, then rushing into work. It has been nice to have a few earlier shifts that get me out in the afternoon. But I think they will be few and far between since many of my coworkers are very inflexible in their availability. DH is home today; his brother and SIL came to town to help with MIL for a week.
Today is wfh day for me and I have tons of reports to run today. I also am doing laundry and need to color my hair. The weather is going to be in the mid 60's today and through the weekend and then next week we are back in the 70's so I will not put away summer clothes just yet.
Ruth sorry to hear about your coffee maker, I am tea drinker so it is much easier for me.
Cyndi glad to see that the hurricane is supposed to stay out in the sea versus making landfall. Enjoy your GS
Ruth. Is this your new keurig. I have a small aeropress that I got and bed and beyond ages ago and it works great for one cup of coffee. Hope the fair is a success.
Linda. When you soak your oatmeal do you still cook it because I only soak it in the summer and am wondering if soaking it makes a better product. Enjoy your red hat event this weekend.
Karen. Glad your dh is getting help
Cyndi. Enjoy the little one. Im going to see my grandsons the weekend after our thanksgiving. My soon to be 3 year old grandson was slower in talking and is now talking up a storm. Can't wait to hear the chatter.
Pearlrose. Hope you accomplish everything today. I too colored my hair this morning.
hair colored this morning and off to the hairdresser for a trim. I have had the same one for 35 years. Like Cyndi I can't pass up a bargain. Processed a bushel of tomatoes yesterday. Time soon to put away all the canning equipment. Tomorrow attending a regional weaving conference.
take care
Sophie
Sophie, I usually pop my overnight oats in the microwave for just a minute to warm them up in the winter, but I like them cold, too. I don't care for the gray, gooey mess you get with the regular way of preparing oatmeal, but I love the texture of soaking the oats. I will sometimes soak steel-cut oats, too. They're chewier, but I love them like that.
What an ugly, raw day here! I'm just back from spending most of the afternoon with Dad. My DS had the day off because of the weather, and he decided to join us. We stopped at several Amish grocery stores and a fruit market for some shopping, and had lunch at a quaint little luncheonette, so we had a good day. Now I'm going to kick back and relax for a while with a hot mug of tea!

Sorry I wasn't here this morning, chicks, I had coffee to share! I announced to DH that today was the last day I was taking my coffee to school iced. I had to scrap the windshield the last 2 mornings so I'm thinking HOT coffee will be in order now.
We are going to be cool but dry this weekend; DH and I are hoping to take a walk and look at the fall foliage. Should be lovely.
