Default Is anyone doing the Plant Strong - Fuhrman McDougall Pollan Ornish Bittman etc

Is anyone doing/still doing the - Plant Strong (not necessarily vegetarian) Fuhrman McDougall Pollan Ornish Bittman etc kind of diet? (Thread from Nov. 2011 to Dec. 2013).

Just curious. My husband just recently was seen by a cardiologist and with some testing (and more to come) was found to have some degree of blockage in one of his vessels. His brother is a doctor and has recommended (and highly recommends to his patients) Joel Fuhrman's book/way of eating ~ Eat to Live.

Curious as to whether (if you are/or have done this diet) do you or did you follow it to the letter? Were you able to do it long term ~ as a way of life? Did this way of eating help you?

His brother has had patients who have had positive outcomes following this way of eating, so my husband is going to give it a go.

I am diabetic, and brother-in-law has also recommended this way of eating for me as well. I think by my husband following it ~ it will get the foods that we would be better off without ~ out of the house. I am thinking that even if I don't follow it to the letter and kind of tweak it to work for me, that I will be eating in a more healthy way than I have been for most of my life.

I would appreciate if anyone would be willing to share your thoughts/experiences with me.

Thank you.

I went vegan 8ish years ago, initially following Eat to Live. I still am vegan, using a lot of the same principles. The Engine 2 diet might be a good one for you and your husband as well.

Can you do it long term? I definitely think so.
