Methylation cycle and depression

I've had chronic depression, sometimes getting very severe, for the last 20 years or so. It's had a huge impact on my eating habits, ability to exercise, even to hold down a job. Anti-depressants haven't helped much.
However, I seem to have stumbled upon an alternative treatment that's working.
It's based on the work of Dr Amy Yasko and the methylation cycle. Basically, our genes make enzymes that turn food into energy. A good 50% of the population have genetic defects that impact this, but some of us have more than others. By supplementing the enzymatic products (creatine, methylB12, methylfolate, molybdenum, etc) that we can't make, we allow the methyl cycle to work properly.
This has implications for people with chronic fatigue, autism, mental health problems, and autoimmune disease, in particular.
I've started on the supplements over the past 2 weeks, and it's like night and day. I've become one of these people who get up at 5.30am and walk along the beach. I can study better now, my thinking is really clear.
It's something you might want to look into if other health treatments (e.g. anti-depressants) aren't working for you.
