Default Cellulite Solution

Does anyone know anything about the cellulite reduction protocol that occurs when you are almost or at goal?

I'm curious about this too. I noticed a significant decrease in my cellulite while on protocol but I have a little bit left.

Here's my understanding of the issue:

Cellulite is just fat beneath the skin, that is connected to fibrous tissue. The problem with that is that you can't pick which fat you're burning, regardless of what any diet tells you.

The idea that resolution of hormonal imbalances or similar issues will reduce cellulite is a marketing ploy, and not much more. Not that there's anything wrong with correcting those imbalances and issues - in fact, they may make you lose cellulite along with remaining fat. But losing fat is what will make you lose cellulite, because cellulite is just fat. There's nothing special about it.

If you eat enough protein and do some strength training (even mild training), you will increase your lean mass which will give your body a more toned appearance, decrease the visibility of cellulite (because your lean mass is smoother in shape and will build up beneath the lumpy appearance of the cellulite), and reduce your overall body fat percent, which would in turn reduce cellulite. So from that perspective, the process works, but it's just reducing total fat and making it less visible, not targeting cellulite specifically.

Added note: I don't follow the IP diet, which may be obvious. I don't know enough about it to knock it - and actually it looks like a lot of people are really successful on it so it must be pretty great. My comment is specifically regarding cellulite and how diets advertise they can get rid of it.

Even some anorexics have cellulite, it has to do with the status of the connective tissue under the skin as well. Lose fat generally, lose cellulite as well. The only thing that has been proven is a type of surgery that snips the tougher fibrous connective tissue bands under the skin to give a smoother appearance... this is just my opinion, but I can see that causing more sagging later in life...

I still have a bit of cellulite at the top back of my thighs at this weight, but then I've had cellulite ever since puberty, lol, even though I haven't been a bit overweight until a couple years ago. Hormones don't help, that's why so many more women have it than men. Our skin is also thinner and our connective tissue is not as tough. I wouldn't worry about any special protocol your clinic may be pushing. It isn't in the info from the videos and I don't think IP Head Office really focuses on that. Maybe another ploy to sell more/different 'detox' products by some clinics, lol.

I'm aware of the science behind cellulite, and even at 90 lbs in high school I still developed it, like Liana mentioned, during puberty. Which lead to a lot of research on the condition. No amount of toning and strength training ever reduced it's appearance until IP.

However, many of my materials mention a specific "Cellulite Protocol" - since I don't attend a clinic I don't have a coach to explain what that is to me. Perhaps Delgen is reading the same materials as me, that mention the protocol but don't explain it?

There is a cellulite protocal that reduces it..at the end of phase 1. I think it was something like just using packets for a week instead of real protein.

I see my coach on Friday and I will see what she says. I will report back.

If I remember correctly, the cellulite protocol involves having packets for ALL of your meals (1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 2 dinner and 1 snack) - only unrestricteds

The claim is that it will reduce the cellulite, but there's not a lot of science to back up the practice, to be honest. Medically speaking, surgical means have been the only long-term way to address it effectively - and even that's not foolproof.

Phase 1 of IP on its own reduces cellulite, for the reasons mentioned previously. Strength training or something like pilates/yoga (that builds lean muscle) is going to be much more effective in reducing the appearance of cellulite once you've lost a lot of weight than any "quick fix".

I am the QUEEN of cellulite, lol! I do find that IP has given me the best results for reduction (before I always managed my weight with exercise only). But I still got a little "swim skirt mini" even at my current weight because of that icky stuff. My understanding is the loose skin present after weight loss can really make cellulite look worse....but I am noticing my skin is definitely going back now that I've been at or below goal since September. I noticing it the most on my hips and arms....yeehaw!

Ok, yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. I wasn't sure how they could claim to target cellulite, when you lose fat everywhere. I can't believe the amazing reduction of cellulite I've had on IP, but I was pretty sure it was impossible to "target" that specifically. I was curious if the "protocol" involved something else - like specific exercises, etc., but it sounds like they just want you to buy another box of food.

Yes, I have seen a reduction too. And I am hopeful my 55 year old skin will bounce back. That I am skeptical about! Think collagen.
I am not one to go around in a mini skirt anyway. So I am happy either way!
Thanks for the info guys!
