Default Sunshine Needed Monday - November 24

Good morning. We have very heavy rain - it's even noisy and woke me up at 5! I guess my roof guys will not be here today again. ** Sigh ** I'll have to make my own excitement and call the stove repair guy about the oven. Good thing I delayed until today because the handle came off the oven door last night! What next?

Yesterday was positively balmy and all the snow melted. Today's rain will polish things up. I may run into town for a few wee things to tuck into the parcel I need to mail out to the West Coast. After all, a month from today it's Christmas Eve. Hmmm - guess I'd better send out my invitations to my traditional Christmas Eve bash. (It's hard to get in the mood when the temperature will be 65 this afternoon!)

In the meantime, two slightly damp dogs are lying at my feet and it's time for another coffee. What's on your Monday agenda?

Good morning!

Ruth, thanks for getting us started this morning! Sounds like one yucky day there! I don't know what it is about those appliances. My cooktop started self-igniting over and over and over again the other night.lacking anything else, I shut the breaker off to it and waited until the morning. When I turn the breaker back on and it didn't do it anymore. That was an easy fix. I read somewhere that moisture can get inside and cause them to go crazy. I hope that was it.

Today is my early day at work so I'm up and at em. I started by getting my two pies in the oven for Thanksgiving meal. They're finishing up now so I can cross that off the list. I pick my sister up at the airport tomorrow after work so things are getting pretty busy around here. Well I already set my smoothie stuff out and so I better get going.

Have a great day everyone!

Ruth, every year I say I'll start Christmas shopping year, and every time I fail! How does Christmas creep up this quickly?! I do hope your oven gets repaired quickly, and no other mishaps allowed!

It's my last week of working alone! And, I of course have Thursday off, but I do work Saturday. Maybe next week, between it slowing down with the holidays and my colleague coming back, I'll start eating a little better?!

I'm not sure we're getting sunshine here, lemme check the forecast...

Morning! I have decided I will take gray and rainy in lieu of that white stuff that was around last week! I'm ok with winter waiting a bit.

I'm feeling good about my Christmas shopping. For a variety of reasons we are buying for fewer extended family members and many of the other recipients are getting gift cards which I have already started to pick up. For my parents I simply go in with my siblings on paying for their plowing for the winter. Easy peasey!

Hope all the chicks have a great day. I need to grab my PB muffins and hit the road!

The rain is just ending here, and we're promised a warm and sunny day for today and tomorrow, and then -------- 6" of snow for Thanksgiving!!!! Really!

Ruth, with the way things are going, maybe Santa will bring you a new stove for Christmas. I hope someone is able to come out and fix soon. Yes, Christmas is creeping up on us; I started working on my Christmas cards last night and hope they'll be ready to mail by the 1st!

Debbie, I bet your house smells yummy this morning with the aroma of those pies. My DIL is supplying our pies this year and has reserved the oven for Wednesday. Any new developments concerning the rescue dog yet?

I'm off to work shortly, and it should be a fun next few days with the girls having 1/2 days of school all week. I love having them home, and we'll see what kind of mischief we can get ourselves into. Since it's so warm today, we'll probably include a trail ride in today's activities.

Good morning.

Debbie - That is almost spitting distance! When do you think you'll be going?

I'm working this evening. Haven't done 4 days in a row in so long I can't remember! I am hoping to make final decisions about Thanksgiving menu and shop today for everything I can. Oh, wait - won't talk to DS until he gets off work (he calls every Monday on his commute home) so can't do shopping for other meals until tomorrow. I hate crowded stores.

Good morning,

It is a rainy and gloomy morning here as well. This is a short week for me three days and then I am off for four day weekend. Looking forward to that.

I have only gotten a few stocking stuffers no gifts yet. I just realized I need to buy my mom and dad something. My in-laws gift is paying the property taxes on their house.

Debbie glad your stove stopped acting up.

Ruth hope you get your oven fixed

Tywnn I am sure it will be great to have help again next week.

Beth I do give some gift cards but only a few

Cottage sounds like you will have fun with the girls

Karen hope you are holding up well from 4 days in a row.

My DS just informed me, he and GF will be sending Thanksgiving at her parents house so I think I bought to much food, so I will scale down the menu a bit since it will be just me, DH and 2 DD's.

Have a great day everyone!

Running late - but still on plan!

Not so sure about Thursday mind you! I am thinking the best idea is to go ahead and plan for the things I REALLY love most and have just a bit of those.

I can do without the rolls and mashed potatoes (I am making some mashed cauliflower I think), but the chocolate pie . . . Gotta have some of that! Granted, I am making it with sugar free jello, sugar free cool whip, and reduced sugar graham cracker crust, but still . . . not remotely on plan.

Catch up tomorrow I hope!
