Default College girl with a goal!

My name is Hailey, I'm a 19 year old Junior at the University of Northern Colorado. I'm studying Psychology and Communications and I hope to teach community college Psych in my future.

I am 5'8" and currently at 255 pounds, the heaviest I have ever been.
I have always been a little overweight, but now I am in the realm of obesity and I know I need to take my body back.
I struggle with a lot of issues that get in the way of my weight loss goals such as several bodily ailments (hip, back, knee problems, etc) and my extremely overactive appetite.
I started gaining weight rapidly when my boyfriend and I started dating 3 years ago.

With the added stress of being a student, I have packed on an extra 50 pounds in the last year and a half or so and I am ready to start anew.

I want to try some clean eating meal plans and I want to get active again.
My body feels so terrible where it's at right now, I am always sick and fatigued.

My goal weight is 160 pounds, but I plan to break it up into milestones. My first big milestone will be to get under 200 pounds. I am really excited about joining this community and I think it could help a lot! I would really love some help, support, and advice from you all and thank you for welcoming me into your community!

Hey Hailey! Welcome!!
I'm also a college student and started out in a similar boat as you!
I started out at 280 and made my first "mini-goal" 50 lbs down too! I think that's a great first mini-goal, it's a significant enough loss to really feel like you've made a big achievement and it's really fun and gratifying to compare 'before and after' pictures if you ever have an off day.
I also had some medical problems which is what prompted me to say enough is enough and start on my weight loss. I've noticed those problems (or at least some of them), have become much better with the weight loss and that eating healthy has increased my energy greatly which has helped me coped with school stresses better than before.
There is a 20-Somethings section of the forum that seems to have a lot of posts from other college and grad school students, that can probably help you get some diet and exercising ideas from people who have to fit it around a busy student schedule also.
I'm looking forward to see your posts on the forum! Good luck to you!

@levoguette
Thank you!
I will definitely check out the 20 somethings page, thank you so much for telling me about that.
And I am so happy to see there is somebody in a similar boat who has accomplished great success so far! I can't wait to be 50 pounds down, I think that will be the most amazing feeling in the world!

Of course! I hope you find good use of it.
One of my favorite kind of threads are the "Getting out of the ---lbs!" type of threads. I feel like they're great for sharing achievements, frustrations, advice, and tips!
I've participated in a few within the 100lb Club in the past, but it can sometimes be difficult to relate because of the age differences. All of the posters in the thread I would currently be in are wonderful! But since most of them have kids and jobs and I am not yet in that part of my life, it can be a bit hard for me to really be able to relate to them.
I believe the 20-Somethings section has had a few but they have normally been in the 190, 180, or 160 weight range. If you think a thread like that could help you keep and track or get started, I think it could be nice to start maybe a 'Getting out of the 200s' thread for those in their 200s who are trying to reach 'Onederland'. I know my next goal is to get to 199lbs.

Hi, and welcome!
I am also a college student, in my 4th year, about to get my degree in Psych as well!
Same as Levoguette, I had health problems that forced me to jump start my losses and to change what I had done to myself... I started at a whopping 334 lbs, and I am now 267 lbs, close to where you are starting! I wish you the best of luck! It can be done! Though college I have found has been a tough place to lose weight (as cafe food is not very healthy at least at my school).
I cut out gluten, sugar, and dairy (though I've always been lactose intolerant, so nothing new there) and that helped A LOT... Cutting out at least some gluten will make your joints and body feel so much better!
I agree with checking out the 20's thread! It isnt utilized enough, but a great place to connect to others with the same goals as you!
Best of luck!
