Default A little bit more weight gone

Hi, I have now lost 5 and a half stone (35.5kgs/78lbs).

And someone who I saw on Tuesday who I had seen for just over a year noticed and she asked if I had lost weight - she didn't know I was/had lost any weight and she is the first person to have notice (well the first person to say something, if anyone else has noticed they haven't said anything). She made me cry but in a good way.

Thanks.

Wow what an achievement! You should be sooo proud of yourself!

I'm sorry that others around you haven't said anything to you about your weight loss; all I can say is if you see someone on a daily or regular basis you tend not to notice things like weight gain or loss and sometimes people don't know what to say so they say nothing.. I know that doesn't make it hurt any less though..

Thank You.

I do know that the people I see all the time won't notice the weight loss and I do know that the people that might notice but might not feel like they can say something. But it was nice that someone has notice and am glad they said something.

I still find it hard to believe that I have lost weight and I can't believe how much I have lost - I would never have believe that I would have lost the amount I have done so far (and without surgery or something like that). By someone noticing and saying something it makes it feel abit more real if you know what I mean?

Thanks again.

Congratulations on your success!

Recently, there was a thread where several people said they never comment on someone's weight loss because they feel it is inappropriate to ever say anything unsolicited about another person's body. Also, many people here have said that they do not like people to mention their weight loss, or especially say, "You look great!" because it implies they looked bad before. So people may very well be noticing your loss -- in fact, you've lost so much, they must be! -- but feel the polite thing is to not mention this.

I have a friend here who is quite overweight and has been losing. She's mentioned to me a few times that's she's eating low-carb and walking more. I'm so happy for her, but I'm unsure what to say, now that I know some people are uncomfortable with comments. One time I said, "You've lost a lot of weight haven't you?" and she kind of brushed it aside with a well, yeah, some (I think because she still has a lot to go) and I just said, "Well, you've been working hard, and it shows." I'm hoping that was OK

Thanks for the reply. If I had to pick from hearing 'you put weight on' or 'you have loss weight' - I would want to heard the 2nd one. And if you said to me what you said to your friend I would have been over the moon with that - that would make my day even thought I know I still have some way to go.

Thanks again.
