Default I'm so frustrated

I'm on day 13 of induction. So far so good. I've stuck to the plan like glue with the exception of two Atkins bars I had this week. In my first week I lost 20 lbs. I know that sounds incredible but I was retaining a HUGE amount of water. My legs and feet were like balloons. I could barely bend my fingers. Needless to say during the first week I peed my brains out.

A few days ago I lost another pound. I was happy. But I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm UP 3 lbs!!! Argh!

I'm drinking approximately 128 oz of water a day (my goal is 16 - 8oz glasses). The Keto sticks range anywere from medium to dark pink and I have a constant funny taste in my mouth so I know I'm in ketosis.

I'm trying not to be discouraged but I am.

Ok, so I know I have shaky math but - you've had a net loss of 18 pounds in two weeks! You should be proud, lady! That's like a whole dress size (with wiggle room)!

I know, not very helpful but from my POV - that's great!

I know I should be looking at it that way.

I also realize most, if not all of it, was water. It's the gain of 3 lbs. that discourages me. With all the water I'm drinking, I don't understand how I could be retaining water. Blech.

I know I should be happy. It's just hard to see the scale go back up so early into my program.

I want to get this fat off my body.

I think this is where the whole "only weigh once a week" logic comes into play. Not that I myself could ever really do that...in the past, I've actually had to have my husband HIDE the scales from me. Self control? What's that?

I'm just getting started with low carbing - if I can report half your loss after two weeks, I'll be BEYOND thrilled.

Good luck and continued success!

Hun realize that a mere 2 cups of water is 1 lb. so if you are so easy to retain fluid think of those pounds as a bit of water retained!! that is all it is really!!!

or that the 20 lb reading was a fluke- you know, temporarily TOO low from the water imbalances your body was going thru. Are you taking some potassium, magnesium and zinc? That's a lot of fluid to loose so fast, and minerals go when you go!

Call it 17 lbs. lost, and relax!
