Here is what the Internet says about Communion wafers...I think you are OK with these low counts.
"Estimates I have seen are that a typical Communion wafer would contain around 1/3 gram of carbohydrates and come in at about 1/2 to 1 calorie."

I just eat the wafer - I skip the wine anyway. Having worked in the sacristy, I'm good on not drinking the wine. I don't really trust the "wipe and turn" method. lol
there is such a miniscule amount of carb, you'd be ok.
and from what I've read about Dr. Tran, he'd say you'd be ok with the wine, too. Not enough sugar for that one moment to throw you off. Intinction is a good idea.
This subject has been discussed before (like about two years ago) when I first started.
The communion would not put you out of ketosis!
I have lost 50 pounds being on the program, I never gave it a second thought about not having the communion, and it never affected my weight loss, it is such a small piece of bread, it wouldn't have much carb to put you out of ketosis!
As of wine, I am not sure how much will it take to put you out of ketosis, but seriously, don't even think about it I never did, I continued going to the church and having my communion without even thinking about my diet.

I just take it. I would rather obey God with that one small bite than put my weight loss in front of his honor. Believe me, throughout the week I'm in far greater danger of eating too much cauliflower than that oyster cracker and grape juice is gonna give me.

Well said! I'm Anglican ("Catholic Lite"), and I can always cross my arms over my chest and receive the blessing, but I'd prefer to take communion. It always starts my week off just right.
If you believe that God is commanding you to do this...then you need to DO it! If you are obeying what God is telling you to do, He will take care of how your body will react to the bread & wine.
I needed some help with the communion issue, being a deacon in the Eastern Orthodox Church, I normally comsume the chalice, which will be about 4-6oz if that of wine mixed with water and body (Bread), which I can dillute even more with water, if I want to. When I mentioned this to the clinic they were OK, we will check into it and now its a big issue, because they can not guarntee the weight loss. I do not look at it as bread and wine, I look at it as the body and blood of Christ. Anyone have similar issues or know if this is gonna cause major weight loss issues. Thanks

We have all seen how much knowledge varies from one clinic to another, but it really surprises me that any clinic would have a problem with this.
5 oz of wine has 4 carbs. A bite of bread (if you are using actual bread and not communion wafers) would only have 1 carb. That's 5 carbs. Sure they are "fast carbs", but so are some of the ingredients in the restricted bars.
Consume the bread and wine and only eat unrestricted packets those days and you will be fine.
