Default Gym, anyone?

I'm starting to add in 30-60 minutes of gym time per day with IP. Coach said to definitely eat another packet or alternative afterwards and to perform at about 50% of the intensity I'm used to.

Just wondering, what gym routines have worked out for any of you on IP? Mostly cardio...weights...classes? Tips on what to stay away from?

I do Spin classes a few times a week, and Pilates 1-2 times a week. I'll occasionally add circuit training/weights. I did all of these things prior to IP - I actually did Spin 4-5 times a week before IP and I've cut it down to 2-3.

I don't usually add an extra packet, but I do eat an extra hard boiled egg (or 2) after my workout.

At the 3 month mark, I joined Ladies Fitness Express. I go 6 days a week and do the circuit-interval training M-W-F which takes about 40 minutes and ride a recumbent bike for 4 miles (+/-32 minutes) T-TH-Sa. I have continued to lose ...and do not eat anything additional...was not advised to and I believe it is probably because of my size...at 4'10". The only advice from my coach was to back off duration on the bike ride, which I was doing for an hr. trying to hit 10MPH as my goal.
She told me 30 min/day on top of the other stuff until maintenance ..

Clocking in over a 53 lb loss at this time ...I am 2/3 to my goal and additional calories might actually NOT be the best thing. Only once did I feel "hungry" enough to add some hard boiled egg to my afternoon to stave off the hungries. In reality though...(true confession) ... in the three days prior to that...I'd actually "skipped" a packet 2X because of being out and about...and then arriving home late and eating dinner after 8PM. I think the hungry monster just caught up to me the day I needed the HB eggs..... it does not seem to be a repeat need.

Have lost almost 30 lbs while incorporating the exercise...started April 8th with that. Jan 10th was first day on IP and official WI is tomorrow...and I think I'm down since last week again. BUT.. losing inches fast after a dry spell...last week over 4" (!!) ...and have gone from a size 16-18 to a size 6 and hope to be a 4 if not smaller once I finish this.

I recently rejoined IP and joined the gym two weeks ago so I'm hoping to start exercising after my first week on IP, This gives me great encouragement because I'm also short and would like to be 125 some day, but have a hard time losing weight on any diet. So you didn't start working out until a few months after IP right? how many days a week do you do cardio?

*Circuit training is weight bearing and resistance...(MWF)

*The 4 miles on recumb bike is the cardio ..( T-Th-Sa) which is the one the coach had me reduce to 1/2 hr instead of full hr.

Spin, really? I love spin. But I've been told to stay away from any strenuous exercise now. I've been on IP since May 13, 2013. I was told I would walk for 30 mins, but not power walking (nothing to get my heart rate up). Also was told I could do light weights for toning.

How long were you on IP when they allowed spin and similar exercising?

I had a prolonged stall three months in so I started cross training classes. I do kickboxing three days a week and resistance bands three days. I added 6 oz of tuna at lunch and an extra packet. I lost 30 lbs in 11 weeks so I'm happy with the results.

I follow IP protocol on my own/without a coach. I re-started Spin about 5 weeks after I started IP. I started slow (1 class a week) and I always pay close attention to how I feel.

Your exercise routine sounds similar to mine...I find it encouraging that there is some consistency with this. I will be 65 in two months....so expected a slower loss pattern than the younger IP-ers and am happy with current progress and hope to be headed for maintenance by summer's end.
