Default Mismatched Points?

Hi all!

I use my Weight Watchers apps to track food when I'm not near the computer. Sometimes the points don't match what they're supposed to be!

For example.. I just had a Weight Watchers "Smart Ones" orange sesame chicken dinner. The box says 7 Points Plus Value, but the app AND website said 8! What the heck? I thought maybe one was the old point system and one was the new, but I realized they're both Points Plus values.

I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem. I'm still new to WW so I rely on these things quite a bit, and now I'm wondering how many things are calculated incorrectly

Hi Suz!

I run into this problem sometimes, and I generally just use the higher point value in my food journal. In my case, I'd rather miscalculate my points too high than too low, if that makes sense. If, at the end of the night, I think I can use that extra point for a snack/meal that will keep me satisfied, I'll use it.

I always figure there is some flexibility with the points, as not all recipes are going to come out with an exact point amount (generally find that I have to round up the points for any given home made recipe), plus I always have the wiggle room of the weekly points and activity points.

Hope this helps!

Suz, I've run into the same issue with alot of the smart ones meals. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, but the eTools calculates it often as a point more. I go with the higher point value like Buffinlovin and just go with it. Better to overcalulate!

Thank you, I've been doing the same thing. As you both said, I prefer to go with the higher value instead of the smaller one because I'd rather have added up too much than too little. Glad to know it's not just me! Thanks for the feedback

The etools calculator does not account for "free," foods. Fruits and vegetables are counted as if they were any other food. This issue has been around from the beginning of etools (when points were calculated differently and only veggies were free).
