Default Quick Question!

My 80 year old grandmother, God bless her made us fajitas for dinner. The seasoning has 2g of sugar in it and she used about a serving per person. Does anyone think those 2 grams of sugar will throw us out of ketosis? I don't want to hurt her feelings but I may have to run off to rinse my chicken. Thanks in advance!!

Is it 2g carbs per serving in the seasoning? It's probably not going to cause an issue as a one-time thing, unless you are hyper-sensitive to carbs...but you would probably know that already if that were the case. Just keep everything else to plan and you should be fine

It had 4g carbs and 2g sugar. I don't think she used a lot (I hope) it didn't taste super seasoned. Thanks for the response!

Ketosis does not accelerate weight loss per se unless you are very sensitive to carbs. It may (I do not think this is scientifically proven yet, but it makes sense) favor fat loss. But you still need to generate a calorie deficit. That is what ultimately makes you loose. You can get fat even on Atkins if you eat enough calories.
I just have to argue a little bit here. Yes, you can gain weight on Atkins (I've done that) BUT... you cannot generalize what everyone can eat carb wise and still be in ketosis. It only takes me 45 carbs (extra, not net carbs) to fall out. Yes, I'm not normal, but there's no way I could eat anywhere near 80 carbs and still be in any form of ketosis.

On the other hand, 2 carbs, even 4 carbs, isn't going to put you out unless you're eating a lot of super high carb IP foods.
