Default Pretend You're Happy That It's Monday!!!!!!!

It is just such letdown, that whole Monday thing. I am of the "extend the weekend indefinitely" persuasion. Did everyone have a good weekend? I spend most of Saturday at a Stamping party (I made 6 cards!! So much fun!!) and I woke up on Sunday morning to my little Aaron handing me a plastic watch that he chose for me himself from Walmart (Drew took him in the door and put him down and followed him. The first thing he showed major interest in is what he got...that's our usual way of having Aaron shop for people, and it's pretty cute to see the bizarre things that come up...Drew got Tommy Girl perfume last Christmas). Since I'm low-carbing and there aren't many restaurants in my small town, we went after church and bought the makings for a nice brunch (egg, sausage and mushroom bake and a chocolate sugar-free cheesecake) and fixed it together. We also rented a few movies...all in all, a great day.

This is our last week of school, so lots of wrap-ups...I'll miss these little peanuts! Next year they will be big four year olds and too big for my class anymore!

I'm anxious to hear all about your weekends, which I KNOW were completely OP, right?

Love, Jayne

and a big *MWAH* to you all!

Good morning Jayne! It sounds like you had a great Mother's Day

Saturday we went shopping for Mother's Day presents and for camping gear. We are going camping this weekend at a scooter rally in Niagara Falls. It's like a motorcycle rally but much calmer, even though there is lots of beer and rowdiness, there are vintage Italian motorscooters instead of motorcycles (I have a Lambretta and there are a lot of Vespas that show too).

Anyways, Saturday night I played Monopoly with 3 of my friends and it was down to me and Noah but Noah won (damnit! haha). Monopoly took over 3 hours! I forgot how long it takes to play that game.

Yesterday we went to visit our Moms and went out to Dim Sum with Jay's family. That was my 1 meal of the day and I KNOW I didn't stay in my points. How do you count Dim Sum? Anyways I had way too much of those noodles with the peanut sauce in them and then I had two of the Rose Pie desserts (more peanuts hahaha) and some Rice Stick and a Pot Sticker and a Chicken Bun. So that has to be more than 25 points. But I was really good cause when I went to my parents house all I had was some gum drops and later that night I had salad to get my veggies in. So I feel ok about it overall.

Oh and I didn't tell you but last Wednesday I played HOCKEY!!!! YAY!!!! They started a women's summer ice hockey league at the University of Rhode Island skating rink and I joined. Very fun and really really good exercise!

Check back in later, hope you all had a great weekend

Well girls....I have fallen off the wagon. I think the combination of waking up late last week and not getting in my exercise, eating that pizza, etc just gave me enough push to fall off. I spent my weekend on a serious binge. I estimated my calories this morning and I was eating in 1 day what I normally eat in 3. Lovely. I am trying to get back into at least being OP with the food, and I will worry about the exercise next week after work craziness dies down. I'm going to be here probably till around 7 every night this week, which wouldn't be SO bad, but I live 45 mins away and that is with me getting here by 8am.

Anyway, don't want to complain too much about it. My best friend from college was in town visiting this past weekend, so it was good to see her, but nothing too crazy. She brought her BF with her who doesn't really like to go out much. We went to see Old School Friday night at this place that serves beer and food - more informal than a regular theater, and Sat. we played drinking games at the apt. where they were staying. Other than that I sat around in my pjs and watched a lot of TV. I am a serious couch potato, it's not even funny.

Lori and Jayne, I'm glad your weekends were more OP than mine!

I'd say I fell off the wagon but I don't think I was ever on it......still not eating healthy and can't seem to even find my work-out enthusiasm.....plus I'm having a bad hair day so I'm throwing myself a pity party.....I think I need to take Jayne's advice and pretend I'm happy....fake it 'til I make it.

Jayne - I think the way you guys have Aaron pick out presents is so adorable. Sounds like you had a wonderful mother's day - I'm so glad.

Lori - I'm so glad you found a hockey league to play in. What fun and if you keep playing, you won't need to worry at all about the Dim Sum.

Lexxy - I'm sending you "surviving the crazy work week" vibes - I know how tough long hours can be on planning food and working out. I agree - pick just one thing to concentrate on.

I didn't have much of a weekend as I worked all day Saturday and a short shift on Sunday. Friday night CB and I were going to run errands for the ex's wedding but ran into friends and went to dinner with them. I also cleaned out the refrigerator in CB's apartment. I don't normally clean his place (unless he helps with mine) but the refrigerator was seriously disgusting - it took 2 hrs of nothing but scrubbing. However, I now feel that I can keep some of "my" food there so no more excuses about eating bad at his place. I also brought 2 of my WATP tapes there so I don't have an excuse for not working out there either.

This week is starting to look busy...I work Mon & Thurs, have yoga Tues and we are going for drinks Wed to celebrate - one of my girlfriends is graduating college. She's a single mom of 2 girls who works full time and still managed to get her degree - I'm so impressed by her fortitude and strength.

Hmmm...should probably work since I am here.

Good morning everyone...

Had a crazy weekend that doesn't feel like it should be over just yet. And I just KNEW that when I went home I wouldn't be able to stay in control of my eating.... My Dad had his bar in the basement open Friday night when I got home, which meant a couple drinks with everyone who came over, and he like to cook breakfast for everyone around midnight. Uh. At least I didn't have the hash browns, right? Otherwise I would have done fine that day! Saturday was a complete mess -- my friends decided to do a bar crawl in our town, so I drank for way too many hours on Saturday. Sunday I spent recovering... and eating a turkey dinner. I am exhausted. Five more days till weekend... I didn't exercise at all this weekend, so I really need to get back on track!

Jayne -- sounds like you had a great mother's day.

Lori -- It's been forever since I've played Monopoly too -- I usually give up because I'm tired of waiting for it to end...

Lexxy -- hope your crazy week goes by fast!

Laura -- I've got a really bad hair day going too... I need to find time for a haircut to just fix it..

Well back to work, especially since it took me about an hour to finish this out-- hi to anyone else that's posted since I've started this!

I don't think I've been on the wagon since November! Maybe a day or two last month, but that's about it. I'm going to try and regain my willpower this week. I want to lose 30 pounds before DH and I start trying for a baby.

Weekend update. I was quite peeved at my MIL yesterday. We had planned to take her to lunch, but when DH called her in the morning to confirm a time, she said she wasn't feeling up to going out. DH was feeling awful about it, as if his mother didn't want to see him on Mother's Day (oh, and by the way, she was one of the main reasons we friggin' uprooted ourselves and moved across the state). So I told him we were going over there. It's only about 40 minutes away. I played nice, and we took her a pretty plant and her card, and we just spent about an hour visiting with her.

I really couldn't believe it. I haven't spent Mother's Day with my own mother since I was in high school. Here we move to be closer to his mother, and she tries to beg out of a visit? Don't get me wrong, I do like her, but I don't understand why she doesn't want to see us that much esp. when she was pushing for us to take these jobs!

Ay, yi, yi. Maybe I need some lunch. That will help. And I'm going to see MY mom this weekend. I can't wait.

Hey girls! I haven't been here in ages and felt kind of bad about dropping in and out until Rina e-mailed. I thought hey I should get my big butt over there Soo here I am. I am testing this to see if it will post and if it does I will be right back. I just wrote a huge post and it did something funky so here goes.

Yay Last time I was here I was getting married and I am! I love married life!! We had a lovely wedding and honeymooned in the Bahamas. Loved it. (Keep in mind this is the short version since my ultra long post is lost in the abyss).
DH and I are looking for houses and I cannot wait to find "the one". We haven't even unpacked all of our goodies that we received at our shower b/c we knew we wanted to move ASAP. We figure that it will be like Christmas in July when we get to open everything. Other than that I am just spending lots of time getting to know DH. It is such an interesting process. Men are a different breed. Not that I am complaining.

Weight wise I lost 15pds before the wedding but I have put on about 5 since. I find it difficult to leave my dh in the warm bed to get up and walk with good ole' Leslie I also have begun in the last 2wks late night snacking with DH. I NEVER did this before. Oh well no excused I need to get my butt in gear. So that is the story of my life in a nut shell.

Jayne-I love your mothers day story! So precious. How is the low carb thing going?

Modktn~ How were the falls? Which side were you on? It sounds nice!

Lexxy- Couch potatoe? Sounds like you had a fun wknd to me. I rented a couple of videos with DH and did yard work, Yippee!!!

Laura~ WATP! Me too! Which ones? Uhh and am I misunderstanding something? Your helping with your ex's wedding?

Star~ Midnight breakfast! Who could resist? Sound fun!

Kim~ I have to chuckle b/c we got married around the same time and we are dealing with a lot of the same issues. Newlywedded, PG concerns and of course the in-laws. DH and I are waiting at least a couple of years but I too want the extra weight gone before then. I love my MIL too but uhhh sometimes!!!

Well gotta go but I hope to check in later. I missed you guys!

Hey Becky - welcome back! Feel free to post anytime.
Kim - does your MIL powertrip? It was nice of you to make the effort to see her anyway. You are a good DIL
Angie - sounds like you had fun and that's important too.
Laura - cleaning out disgusting fridges is also a good way to curb your appetite. It curbed mine just hearing about it.
Lexxy - Damn weekend. I did the same thing. We'll hop back up on that wagon and keep going.
Lori - I LOVE dim sum! Don't they steam a lot of the stuff? Doesn't that make it healthier?
Jayne - That's a great way to shop. Sounds like a good weekend for you.

So yes, I did almost nothing I said I would this weekend. I planned dinner out on Friday and ended up with Subway (but not a good choicce subway, I had the Tuna - HIGH POINTS!!) AND Doritos (bad me) and then I was invited to a friend's for dinner and we had lovely Roast and cesar salad but I couldn't resist the garlic bread (my weakness) and the potato salad (but I just had a tablespoon.) and then we had dessert and went to a movie and had popcorn. It was pretty miserable from a WW standpoint. I did have a good time thought and I guess that counts for something. Then last night at work (which ended up going until 1am instead of the 10pm I was expecting) my supervisor brought us chips and I don't know how many I ate before stopping myself. I'll be very good today and tomorrow and hopefully I can at least maintain for WI tomorrow.
So I'm tired today and don't have much work to do. I'd better find something to make me look busy.

Happy Monday girls!

Welcome back Becky, we missed you. Glad married life is enjoyable!

A big Hi to: Jayne, Jess, Ali, Lori (s), Jen, Jen2, Kt, Kim, Angie, Laura, Lexxy, Kier, and all that I have missed!

I feel your pain, to the girls that fell off the wagon this weekend. That is me, but I did get a 3 mile walk in, which was fab!

I am staying OP today, which is great, and planning on cleaning the garage and going for a walk again tonight. I know I can do this, I really want to lose 25 lbs by September. I need your help hanging in there!!!

Not much else new with me. I have a final exam on Wed and Fri this week, then the semester is done. I start working 3-4 days a week in another week, and I am really looking forward to that. The kids have lots of summer activities to do.

DH and I are still working on our yard. We have had such heavy rains that it has washed most of our yard away. But, we will whip it into shape soon enough. We are painting our garage this week. So, that should be lots of good exercise.

My cleaning lady comes for the first time tomorrow. DH bought her for me. I am so excited! I have always wanted a cleaning lady, but just never spent the money on one. But, now with working full time, taking care of the kids and DH, and going to school part time, the housework is what has to go! I am a spoiled woman...

Gotta run...

oooh Tonya, a cleaning lady!! I'm so jealous!

Hi Belle, long time no see!

Well, a few wrenches have been thrown into my plan...it looks like tonight I'll be going to get a few beers. It's "cop week" here in DC, a bunch of cops from all over the country come into town and invade the Irish Bars. It's actually a lot of fun and a big ego boost. Wednesday we're going to a seafood (blech) restaurant for work, but they have filet mingon which is what I'd be getting.

Hi everyone else, gotta get back to work!

Kim - sorry to hear about the MIL drama - hope you enjoy the visit with your own mom.

Hi Becky - Welcome back! Glad your wedding and honeymoon were so great. Not my ex's wedding - my BF's ex-girlfriends wedding. It's a 3 day formal attire event - that I'm NOT looking forward to.

KT - I wish cleaning out the fridge curbed my appetite! Instead I rewarded myself for the hard work with a super-size bowl of ice cream...

Tonya - how sweet of DH to hire a cleaning lady. What a nice thing for him to do.

Later,

Laura

Becky: I did almost the same thing you did. I lost 12 lbs. before the wedding but I gained it ALL back. Where's that wedding willpower when we need it?

Mmm. ... Bahamas. Every day I wish we were back in Jamaica on our honeymoon!

Talking Hello Kiddos!!

Hi everyone!! Sorry I was MIA so much last week--Tues and Weds, I was working out of the office, and Fri was the Women's Conference that my company puts on for women. It was pretty fun. After the women's conference, I was in a bowling sweeper (another company-sponsored event), and can I just say that eating all weekend was atrocious!!!! I started listing what I ate over the weekend and am just ashamed. I'm a little disgusted with myself because I act sometimes like I don't care at all about losing weight and I don't know what triggers it or why it keeps happening. I think a big part of my problem is that I let myself be a little more lenient than I should be and am going to have to go back to planning ahead, eating exactly what I plan. Exercising has been going pretty well. I joined the YMCA today--they just built a new one here in town and it is SO cool. I walked 3 miles and according to the treadmill, burned 300 calories, so that made me happy. I can honestly say that I haven't had any trouble making myself work out over the last few days, so that's something, right??

My weekend just FLEW past! I think it's because I hardly spent any time at home. Friday, I didn't get home until late. After the bowling sweeper, I went and got dinner with Aaron. During dinner, a guy that I work with called and asked me to come hang with him and a few other guys from work at Buffalo Wild Wings. After that, I went back over to Aaron's because I think he had some sort of flu bug. Saturday, I cleaned until about 5, when I went to hang out with Aaron again. (Just so you know, it's looking like we might be getting back together soon.) Yesterday, I did dishes. That was a major chore. I know I sound like a dirty person when I say this, but I haven't done dishes in a very long time. They're all rinsed and actually clean, but just haven't been washed in hot water with soap. I don't have a dishwasher, either, so I paid Aaron to do it. So I guess I can't say that I did the dishes, because Aaron did the dishes. But, either way, the dishes are clean.

Speaking of Aaron, and boys in general... things with Mike are done. Last time I saw him, I decided that I was going to tell him I thought we should just be friends--I felt like there was something missing between us. But, I didn't get a chance to tell him, because he hasn't called me since Wednesday. He usually calls everyday. So, at least I don't have to tell him that I'm not interested in him. Of course, there's still the minor damage that has been done to my ego.

Jayne--You got to stamp on Saturday? You're so lucky!! I only got one stamping project done this weekend and it was a card for my mom for yesterday. That is way too cute how you let Aaron shop for presents. I bet it's just adorable to follow him around WalMart...

Lori--The scooter rally in Niagra Falls sounds like fun!! Is it sort of like a Sturgis for scooters?? I went to Sturgis once, what a strange place... I can't wait to try Dim Sum. I've never had it before and will probably have it in Portland when I go in June.

Lexxy--They say the first step in weight loss is being aware what kind of decisions you're making, and you've done that. I'm sure that this week will be lots better for you, just don't get discouraged and make this a great week.

Laura--I'm sort of like you when it comes to the wagon. I'm part of the way on, but I still have a leg dragging behind me. A bad hair day? That sucks, but I bet that nobody else has even noticed. Probably it's just you being harder on yourself than you should be. I bet you're still ravishing!!

Angie--Well, maybe the weekend wasn't so good but it's a new week and we have to plan now for it to be a good one!!

Kim--I'm sorry that MIL caused so much stress. That really is too bad, but it makes you look like such a good person that you went to that effort to make her mother's day special.

Becky--Hey there, long time no see!!!!!!! How in the heck are you, I'm glad that you're back, keep posting!! You do WATP, too? Jayne, Laura, and I all do that, but be careful, Laura is pretty possessive of Randy, the sexy stud that walks with the group.

KT--I do that sometimes at Subway, too. sometimes I even walk in there with good intentions, but end up with something like a BMT with mayo and everything. Subway is great for good choices, but also really good for bad choices.

Tonya--I laughed out loud when I read "DH bought her for me". But it would be so nice to have a cleaning lady, even in my tiny little apartment so I can imagine how nice it would be for you, especially with everything you have going on. Congrats on getting your 3 miles walk in over the weekend. And good luck on your finals this week, too!!

Well, that's all for now, my day is about over and I'd like to get one more thing finished up. Hope everyone has a great OP day!!!
