It's a learning process! And sometimes you only learn it AFTER you make the mistake.
Some things I thought were risky, but it turns out I can keep them around the house no problem. While other things I thought would be okay were definitely NOT.
I have issues with the trader joes Christmas goodies. I can keep them in the house until they get opened...them I am in trouble. Brush yourself off and start fresh. :-)
Your post made me smile. When I was checking out of TJ's the other day with four bottles of my favorite low cal salad dressing, the clerk randomly gave us a little package of waffle cookies with peppermint sprinkled chocolate on top. Apparently, he was giving out Christmas cheer. I darned near had those things eaten before I got home. They didn't make me a bit sick. A little guilty, maybe...but after all, it wasn't my fault. Hah!

These waffle cookies have been my treat for December. They replaced my addiction to the TJ chocolate covered peppermint JoJos/ oreos I had two years ago. They are much lower in cals. I can eat 4 for about 65 cals with my chocolate tea at night and feel like I indulged greatly.
So, as far as treats go, they are not the best, but you could have done far worse. Again I guess the key here is moderation.
So funny you said this! I LOVE TJ's holiday treats. Last weekend I had a cart half full of veggies and half full of goodies. I feel some temptation seeing them around, but haven't touched them yet. I get them for my DH to enjoy (I mean for ME to enjoy vicariously through him!). It seems to be a good compromise for me!
Haha! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's done this. The good news is I'm so over TJ's Cocoa Truffles. I don't care if I never see them again! lol
I noticed that the cookies aren't the worst thing I could have eaten, but you are 100% correct that the key is moderation. This is what I am supposed to be learning here.
Moderation is the key... as I finish off a can of sour cream Pringles and a FEW dark Dove chocolates- oh boy the scale is going to give me a lecture about this stress eating tomorrow!
