Default Your first 5%

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to WW, and so far I'm loving it. My starting weight was 230 and with weight watchers, I know they have you set your first goal to be 5% of your total body weight.

So I thought I'd see how everyone has progressed. I'm only in my third week so I haven't quite gotten there yet but its on the horizon.

How long did it take you to lose your first 5%, and what were your goals that you set once you achieved that?

Hi and Welcome! I've been on WW for almost two years now and it took me about 2 1/2 months to hit my 5% (I started at 311). My goal after that was losing 25 lbs, followed by hitting my 10%.

Thanks Tudor! Its nice to hear what other people have set for goals and been successful with. I find myself unsure what goals I should set next since I've only ever set long term goals in the past. I am working on trying to set smaller achievable goals so that I don't get discouraged!

You look amazing btw, how did you find weight watchers? I am loving it so far! Did you find you had to exercise a ton with the program? Or not at all? I've been hearing both sides so far...

Thank you! Setting small goals and having non-food-related rewards (like new workout clothes or mani/pedi) helps keep you motivated. Like, I got my third tattoo when I lost 100 pounds

I run and practice yoga and try to get 20+ Activity Points a week. But I've lost weight on really inactive weeks and when I first started to really exercise I even gained weight as my body adapted. Just have to find the right groove for your body.

Oh yeah, this is my 3rd time on WW. Third times a charm! I had done it years and years ago and lost weight but fell off the program. Family and friends had used it to success and I knew it worked so I came back to it this time around.

I weighed myself yesterday and I hit 218.5!

That's my 5% goal!
Official weigh in isn't until Sunday, so I can't really count it, but it was so nice to see! I went over my points a little bit today but will be doing a ton of walking tomorrow and I'm confident that I will see a drop on Sunday morning!

I have been on weight watchers for 3 weeks. My starting weight was also 230 and I hit my 5% at exactly three weeks. It feels good but I don't want the loss to slow down!!

I'm hoping to hit my 5% goal weight this Tuesday. It might be a long shot though since the scale hasn't been reading like that at all.

Congrats everyone! You saw your first 5% much before I did. I weighed in yesterday morning (since Sundays are my weigh in day) and I'm down to 212.8. I'm just about 2 pounds away from my first 20 pounds and it is AWESOME! Thank you weight watchers!

I am 2.8 pounds away from my 5% goal. I'm hoping to hit it this coming Tuesday or the next Tuesday. (That's my weigh in day).
