Default Anyone else get Ideal Coaching TV??

I THOUGHT it was going to be motivational clips from other people on IP. Um, NO. It's 3 men chit chatting and pretty unprofessional. Info is not really earth shattering. When they cook, it's awful. I was told it was great so I got it for a month. (NOT renewing.)

I got an email to review the clips via a survey and I gave them a really bad review. I wish I had left my name, but I didn't.

Anyone else watch these?? Opinions??

I have been getting them up until a few weeks ago. I found them to be very informative while I was new to IP. In fact, I learned about 3fc from one of their videos. They recommended it for recipes and motivational support. One of the 3 is a medical doctor and he will explain things like birth control effects and the like. They also recommended the slow burn method of weight lifting that is compatible to P1 and showed you how to do it.

Subscription to the service was provided as part of my clinic fee. I stopped going to the clinic so the daily email videos stopped. I wouldn't pay for it myself, but it is good service from a clinic that doesn't want to spend time telling the same things to each individual client.

I thought they were quite useful too. Especially in the early stages of the diet. I've only seen the initial introductory series of 14 or so videos from them, but found them helpful as they clarified quite a few things for me. There were only two people in the videos that I saw... one was the Clinic's Doctor, and a second younger fellow who was a Coach. I'm on alternatives, so have no access to them now.

I saw one where the young guy was making something and he didn't know what he was talking about.
I watched one today where they were reading off papers. Really?
I guess I have picked scorbett's brain so much, what they are saying isn't new or interesting.
She should do the videos.
Also, so much was explained at the initial meeting (Dr. Barley was extremely informative and impressive). A lot of it, for me, was redundant.

I just started getting them as a free add on from my coach and since she doesn't do much "coaching", some of them have been informative. But I go to maintenance next weekend, and she just started the videos, so they are pretty much all P1 intro videos. I have a friend who has been forwarding me hers since mid summer and the later videos have some decent advice in them from the doctor. The other ones with the young guy are "fluffy" and more product infomercial based. The doc does a decent job explaining some of the science behind it, but just read Dr. Trahn's book and you get all of that.
So mixed reviews from me.
Probably not too helpful with such a wishy washy response. sorry. it's late! LOL
Have a great week (and oh yea, P3 breakfasts ROCK!! LOL),
Ken

LOL you're too much I've come to the conclusion that the collective knowledge on this forum is much better and more comprehensive than just about anything I could have gotten from the centers!

ITA.

A lot of the info presented in the videos would be redundant, if the dieter was coming here and privy to all the info here. And if the dieter had a good coach. IMO those videos are of the most use to 'newbies' who are in the initial stage of the IP diet, for whatever reason don't have a coach (or have a not-so-good one) and haven't been lucky enough to find 3fatchicks.

If they were the videos posted on here several months ago I was not impressed. It gave the impression they were official"IP" but in fact the doctor owned a clinic, made the videos and sold them to other clinics.
He had carb phobia and gave the impression you had to keep carbs to below 20 a day. So many people were in a panic trying to cut out undistorted veggies to keep the carbs below 20.

This was actually not IP protocol at all.
Maybe I'm thinking of something entirely different but-it was a doctor and a younger guy.

Pat, I think you're probably thinking of the right video series as they featured an 'older' Doctor and a younger fellow that I believe was an IP Coach. In the second of the carb-related ones I watched with this pair, the Doctor was explaining about net carbs, and gave a range of between 20-40 net carbs/day. It seemed clear to me that it was a range he was recommending - not suggesting that everyone should keep carbs below 20/day. I recall him saying that where you were on that range would depend upon your own personal carb sensitivity. I watched these within my first week of joining IP and this is where I first read/heard about not going over 40 net carbs/week, which is what I've since followed all along.
