Default Last night's restaurant experience

My daughter wanted to take us out to dinner last night. Since she has limited finances, we chose a fish and chips place that I thought had salad. It didn't.

So we went to a wonderful little Italian place. I was nervous because they have great fresh bread and wonderful spumoni ice cream.

I am so proud of myself! I didn't have any bread, ordered salad dressing on the side and did the "fork thing" so I hardly used any, and asked for a box to come with my pasta, which was roasted garlic (pasta, butter, garlic and Parmesan cheese). The first thing I did was put half of the pasta into the box.

I have no idea how to count the points for WW so I just guessed. Don't know how well I guessed, but I feel really good that I was able to limit my restaurant eating!

I feel !

Good job. That is one of my hardest things. Being that I'm low carb, I won't order unless they have a salad. I get a chic salad or chef salad. and that is all I eat. But it just kills me to watch my girls not eat everything. I'm one of thoes moms who cleans my kids plates.

But great for you , and now you have dinner or lunch for tonight.

No bread!! You go girl!!! The put 1/2 in the to go box ahead of time is a great idea!! I think I have heard that before, but never tried it.

I am so very proud of you! It doesn't matter what the points were...it was a 4 point day in my book!

Wooo Hoooo!!

You did great. I'll have to remember the thing about putting 1/2 away. I always have such a hard time at resturants that I usually just don't go. Good job!!!

I have heard of putting 1/2 away, but never BEFORE you eat! That makes such perfect sense!

You did an awesome job. to you!

Sheila,
You are a CHAMP! I have a hard time with the free, endless basket in the middle of the table, whether it be chips or bread. That's amazing.

Good for you!! Eating out can be so hard!! My husband loves to eat out, but now the only place that I'll let him go is to Applebee's. I know that I can order half of a blackened chicken salad with no eggs and no dressing and I give him the bread. It's only around 200 calories so I can eat out and stay OP.

love these ideas. now, here's what i do, and believe me, it's a little weird. as a few of you know, i'm the primary caretaker of MOM, who's nearly 81 and has early alzheimer's. her major pleasure: eating out. and she eats EVERYTHING: soup, main course, salad, dessert. and i, with my tiny tummy, just sit and SIT AND SIT!!!!

so, sorry to say, i take my knitting!!! it uses both hands. keeps me out of the bread basket. and away from the dessert.

That is AWESOME!! Seriously... "eating out" is generally associated with "gorging" -for me anyway!- I'm so happy for you! Keep up that attitude and you'll be to your goal in no time! -Apryl

Even I don't know where I've been hiding Jennelle! I came to the conclusion the other day that it's "time" to do this. I've been exercising the last week or so.... the longest ever in my life probably. Thanks for noticing my return. Have a great weekend everyone. -Apryl-
