Question What To Do...what To Do!

I am feeling depressed lately, which is not abnormal as I fight depression. I ahve been on Metabolic Reseach Diet for almost 4 weeks and am down almost 8lbs. Which is great I was on weight Watchers earlier this year and lost the same in the same amount of time. I am thinking of going back to WW as it is cheaper and did the same. Does anyone have pros or cons? Is depression maybelinked with food choices on MRC?

im not too sure what the metabolic research diet consists of- but i have also battled depression, and i know that i personally become a livid witch if i don't have enough healthy fats in my diet. food choices can infact trigger hormone imbalances, do you maybe feel more depressed when you're not able to eat certain foods?

I am not sure if I feel better with or with out some foods. I dont feel like I am missing anything particular, but I know I am bored with my limited menu right now. I know my carbs are very limited so my energy level is low. I have decicded that tonight I am going to make me turkey chili and put cheese on it!!! I think you may be right as it may be a hormone imbalance. I know deep deep inside i am fine but inner person showing outerward I feel depressed. Not down, but that stupid hopeless down feeling...I know this is temporary feeling as i have felt this way before and it will pass...

I know that the Metabolic Research Diet often advises taking herbal and vitamin supplements to enhance success. I have a differing opinion on their weight loss plan but that's me. Are you currently taking any of these? I'm a little skeptical of this diet because thier website says that doctors and registered dietitians created the programs, however, the program supervisors are called "experienced weight loss professionals" and may not have any medical qualifications... I'm not sure that this diet is helping or hurting your progress/ depression problems but I'd consider other options.
Weight watchers is great. I know people who have had success with that program and am glad it has worked for you in the past! That being said, I don't like that a weight watchers membership doesn't allow you to schedule your workouts, track your progress and do everything on one site along with your eating plan. I don't want to ramble on lol but PM me if you ever want to talk. I know it's hard feeling down on yourself but you WILL get through this!

Default Thank you mColeman

Thank you for taking the time to write on my thread. I think you are correct the MRC diet or meal plans may be messing with my depression. I am going to go back to weight watchers as I lost the same amount of weight in the same amount of time. I am taking supplements and vitamins with MRC, I am guessing after comparing my weight loss it is gimmick products. I am happy with losing 8lbs a month and I am not looking for a "fix quicK", just want to lose my belly to feel better about myself. Thank you again~ Tamara
