Default strange taste!

I have had the strangest taste in my mouth for that last 4 days. It kind of a metallic taste is the only way I can describe it. I don't know if it is ketosis or not, because I have been on IP for 6 weeks already. Has anyone experienced this? It is annoying at best...it won't go away even with all of the water I drink. Thanks!

I'm just starting but, how did you know when you were in ketosis?

I am on day 4 of my reboot and woke up with the taste, completely thrilled....ketosis....yes. Time to drop the 18 I am up...but still down over 60.

The entire 8 months I was on IP during my loss phase a few years ago....that taste was always a welcoming sign that ketosis had hit.

Not sure why you are tasting it for the first time at 6 weeks.

I too am not sure that I describe it as metallic, but it is odd.

Yup - ketones in your breath make a metallic/sweet taste in your mouth.

Maybe you are getting ready for a big whoosh!

It is ketosis, but it's just a guess about the whoosh

Thanks for the replys... I can't figure out why it's there at this point ??? but hey, if it is an indicator of ketosis, i'll certainly take it! Delgen, if I get a big whoosh I will certainly let you know, that would be great!!! Weigh in is tomorrow afternoon..

I can always tell when I start waking up really early in the morning. Just a lot more energy for me. The bad breath is also an indicator for many. Thankfully that doesn't last forever.

You probably have an 'overage' of ketones in your bloodstream. The body excretes them through breath, feces, and urine when there is more than you are using for energy - breathing away that fat!
