Question/thoughts - I was at the supermarket today and they had Polaner sugar-free spread with fiber - I checked the label, the red raspberry had 10 calories per 2tsp, 0g fat, and 5g carbs (3g fiber so 2g net carbs). Is it worth considering? NO store in my area carries the WF spreads so I am on the hunt for some alternatives.

have you thought of ordering the WF from netrition??? they have a flat shipping of 4.95 no matter the quantity???
i have not ordered yet from them, was lucky enough to find the WF raspberry spread (which i like) in fl when visiting my mom but i am getting an order ready to make because i want to try the strawberry spread.
i yearn for my tea and toast breakfasts...with jam...typical british weekly fare...and 2 tsp would just be a tease to me!! haha
still....it seems like a pretty good option ...
i read once on this forum...be careful of the items that are "CLOSE" to being on your program...once you start "allowing" this or that...other items tend to slip in as well...and i have not forgotten that...
choose your extra's wisely!!
i figure if a few extras can keep me closer to program, then all the better...as long as i have control and they don't start causing cravings or binges...i am ok with extras!!!
You can make your own jam/jelly with stewed rhubarb and some Splenda/Stevia & extracts (vanilla, strawberry, etc). Whole Foods usually has rhubarb frozen and my grocery has it fresh right now.
Haven't ordered online yet, but I'm probably going to have to take the plunge. Just trying to see if there's stuff more readily available closeby so I can avoid having UPS show up at my door all the time!
Are you british by birth? My grandma was a British war bride, she was a Sgt. in the British army in WW2 and married an American soldier. She still has tea on Sundays, owns all of the Royal wedding commemorative plates, and hasn't much lost her accent in 60-odd years! I still have tons of family in London and S****horpe

That IS a great idea... why didn't I think of that? LOL. Just another reason to make it a point to go and stock up on more rhubarb. Unfortunately we're past the rhubarb growing season in my part of the world, but I can always buy frozen. Oddly enough, there's only 1 supermarket in my city that sells frozen rhubarb! And it's waay on the other side of town - somewhat of a hassle for me to get to, since I don't drive most of the time. And these days with the heat, the frozen variety would be unfrozen mush by the time I got it home! But the thought of rhubarb jam, sweetened with some strawberry flavorings does definitely have a strong appeal.

I ALWAYS have a bowl of it sitting in the fridge. I microwave 1 frozen bag for 5 minutes, add in my sweetener (Stevia, Splenda, extracts, Mio, WF Strawberry, etc), microwave another 2 minutes, then mash it with a fork and let it set in the fridge. You can use a masher, immersion blender, etc. - but I can usually 'fork it up' pretty good! Optionally you can also add in some knox unflavored gelatin & water for a little collagen boost. It's so easy to make in the microwave.

Thank you!! I will definitely be on the lookout for the frozen, but I'm picking up fresh ones tomorrow!

I did go and get 4 bags of the frozen rhubarb across town a couple of months ago, and enjoyed a lot of stewed rhubarb. It is easy to make in the microwave - or just on the stovetop. But that supply is long since used up. Guess I'm going to have to 'bite the bullet' and venture forth again. The lure of rhubarb being back in my diet again is definitely beckoning to me strongly... And I love the idea of making some rhubarb jam.

I'm in Peterborough. I ended up calling what I think was every major supermarket chain here, and the only place that sells frozen rhubarb consistently is Farm Boy. Some of the others may occasionally have it when it's fresh in season, but for a very limited time. And of course, we're now past the fresh rhubarb season in these parts. I you come up here to buy frozen rhubarb, please don't buy out the stock! LOL.
