Default Anyone else doing WW on their own?

Hi there. Quick introduction. My name is Kari, I'm 29 and I am a former WW Online Subscriber.

I joined WW this past January and managed to lose 30 lbs in about 3 months with the program, however in early May I decided to cancel my subscription with WW because I was not happy with their website. I found that I had to use different browsers for different features on the site, and overall I didn't find it to be very user-friendly. Particularly when it came to the community. I felt that with all the money people pay for WW, they could have had a better website that didn't have so many bugs to work out.

So for the last two months I tried to follow the plan by using free tools online, but eventually I just gave up because it was too hard for me to keep track of all my points. (I guess I didn't realize how much I really needed the eTools) lol. Now I DO realize how much I need WW in my life, however I was not keen on signing up for their services again.

That's when I discovered the WWDiary App for my android phone. For me, this has been SUPER useful and I feel like this is all I need to keep on track with WW. It has been accurate thus far and I'm really pleased with it.

So now I feel like I'm finally back on the wagon and am hoping to get to my "mini" goal by my 30th birthday (in September). My husband and I are flying to Las Vegas for our 30th birthdays since they're so close, and I would love to have lost 50 lbs total by then!

Anyhoo, if you made it this far into my post, thank you for taking the time to read. I'm looking forward to getting to know many of you here and making new friends.

Goodmorning KC. I am new here and still doing PP on my own. I gave up on the online WW but am enjoying the program. I went to view your app this morning and I see that it is no longer available. Usually anything with WW on it doesn't last long for non members alas but I have discovered a couple of very good apps. The Ultimate Value Diary which has a mega size data base and all ready pointed for us. It also has the option to add new food and put in your own points. I have found the pro points program a very good one and it got the thumbs up as the best all round program on the Dr Oz show. I have enjoyed the new learning curve cooking fat free meals and the whole household has benefited. Well done on your weight loss. I have lost 39 kg to date which is 85.9 pounds and joined the human race again which at 68 yrs old, is a bonus.

I totally agree with you on the clunky WW website! I used etools for 3 months but it became a nuisance to load up each time. So now I just record on a notepad on my computer (even though I technically still have access to etools as part of my WW monthly pass to meetings).

Good luck on reaching your mini goal for the big 3-0! I'm heading that way soon, eeeek!

I am a meeting member, but also use eTools and I love it, but I use it on my phone more than the PC.

I have tried doing it on my own but I am one of those who needs the accountability of meetings, but there are many people who have been successful without them.

Good luck! You can do it!

I rejoined WW last Wednesday and think I will benefit from the meetings. I was doing quite well on my own as I was continuing to lose even though the process was somewhat slower than before but I would expect that. I found the group session very motivating. I only have a little way to go until I reach my personal goal. I very much like the PP program and have made out my weeks menu, bought the ingredients today so don't have to go near the supermarket again until next week. Planning and shopping in advance works for me.

I am doing WW online and have lost 7lbs since last week and it is TTOM so I am hoping it goes down even more soon. I thought about cancel my membership and using apps but I just don't feel comfortable doing that right now. WW is the only thing that has ever worked for me and I am so thankful.

Good luck with your goal!

I have been doing the old points plan at home since last year. I find it works for me and I have have my family cheering me on. I may not be at my goal yet but I have learned protion control, healthy choices and exercise will be a lifelong commitment.

One strange thing I have noticed in this journey and I don't know if any of you have is that I fill up faster and stay statisfied longer on foods that are in a more natural state. For me staying away from processed foods seems to be good and I am less likely to binge as a matter of fact I don't even crave most processesed foods they no longer appeal to me...wierd I know?

When I was following WW Online I also noticed that too was much more satisfied eating foods in its natural state as opposed to processed foods.

Nancy thats not sreange it all. Its for that reason that thats the premise of Core/sft and is also the reason why PP was created.

I'm doing WW on my own as well. I'm on the old points system because that is the slide I have from the last time I joined. I keep up with points with a pen and little notebook that fits in my purse. I've tried the apps, but I just find something motivational about writing it down, old school style. The meetings are wonderful, but just don't fit into my budget.
I remember the first time I 'lost a point' I was so worried that I would miss it!! Now I've noticed that right before I go down a point I have a hard time using all of them!!
Good luck on your journey!!!

Many of my friends used weight watchers but I thought the point system was a little confusing. I might have to check out that app though, sounds like it would make it simple.

The WW app only works if you are a paying Etools member.

Default On my own for the 1st time!

First I want to thank Goanna for the tip about the ultimate value diary . That has saved me doing WW. This is the first time I'm doing it at home. The other 2 times I went to meetings, I lost some weight, but just not all the weight. Frankly I didn't like being on the scale in front of all those people.. They say it's private, but they were 2 feet in back of me and straining their necks to see how everyone did..I found that uncomfortable.. Yet I had no problem printing it in my profile here. I think because it was my choice to share and not a bunch of busy bodies looking. I work in a small town, and I Knew alot of the people there. Just didnt want to blast it out.. Not then.. But I guess now that I'm older I just want to do it myself!!! And now starting at home this week I lost 6 lbs that iPhone app work miracles. It's with me all the time, because my phone is with me all the time... I can scan almost any food, it tells me the points all in all I'm pretty happy. You guys are all great, I hope to talk to a lot of you soon!!! Carol
