Katz, That is the fun part about setting goals, you get to decide what they are. When you are thinking about them, think about the acronym SMART. Goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. Some people set weight goals. Other set workout goals (ie: work out for x minutes a minimum of y times this week). Or even calorie goals (ie: I will eat no less than 1600 calories and no more than 1800 calories for 7 days in a row).
Goals are something that you strive for, something that you can focus on achieving, something that you believe will help you achieve your ultimate goal.
Yes, I give myself rewards when I reach one. I do not make my rewards food rewards because I am working on changing my relationship with food; food is fuel for my body it is not a reward. But I do sometimes choose food related rewards, like a good set of kitchen knives. And don't feel like goals have to be set in stone. Right now, my goals are mostly every 25 lbs, but later on I may find that I need to set my sights on smaller chunks. If so, I will make adjustments.
Good luck!
