Default Boots!

Sorry I posted this in another place too but it's kind of dead in there. I need you 20 something ladies!

Another pear shaped/large legged question. I always read that pear shaped women should not wear calf high boots as it cuts the leg off and is generally unflattering. So knee high boots seem to be recommended a lot but when I try on knee high boots I find that they make me look even larger. Often because the foot part is so small and thin and then it just goes up and up to accentuate my large legs.

Right now I have calf boots and I can see what they mean but I don't know what would be flattering..

Anybody have any ideas?

Ankle boots are discouraged too. Ah sure, I'll keep looking.. I guess something that's bigger around the foot will balance me a bit, just have to find them

I think it's not so much the length/height of the boots, but finding something that you like plus flatters you. I usually try and find something in between chunky and the really skinny ones around the foot. Happy hunting

I have calf-height boots that have wool on the inside. When I gained weight I felt that they were a little snug so I rolled them down a little bit to expose the white wool. Now they land slightly below the bottom of my calf and they're easy to pull on I think that height is the most flattering.

Just as a visual representation,

These are my boots: http://canada.roots.com/WesternSheep...ctedcolor=2400

These are similar and approximately the height of mine when rolled down:

lilmisschattabox You're right Thanks.. I just don't live near a lot of shops and after trying on 1 or 2 pairs and looking in the mirror I usually feel a bit miserable so I give up. It's just 'cause in shoe shops you're trying them on in front of people. Oh well, more encouragement

Emmcakes They're really nice boots! I like that the foot part looks pretty solid too. I like solid stuff like that as I live in the countryside so shoes get worn down pretty easily. Maybe I could get some and add sheep fleece myself, there's no shortage of sheep in Ireland haha
