Thumbs up Just joined 3 FAT CHICKS.....

My weight is the one thing that I can't control of. I've spent time in therapy and understand enought to know that weight is a symptom of underlying issues, and yet.......
I wonder if years from now we won't understand that some people just have a propensity to eat more - maybe don't have the same "on/off" regulator that others do.
I never have to tell myself not to have the third drink - my body just knows its too much. Like people without a weight problem know that there's no need to eat a meal after a meal!!!!!

Welcome, You have come to a great place to get support and motivation.
I feel like the more I learn about eating and weight loss, the more I realize that I am in control of it and can take control of it. This was a big surprise to me. I think it has helped me realize how strong I am.
Maybe our on/off regulators don't quite work like they should but our heads can step in and stop us from eating. I know I am not really in touch with my feeling full switch but I am working on getting in touch with how many calories I should eat and how much exercise I need to do to be healthy. It is an interesting learning process.

3FC is fantastic support and the only messageboard for fitness I'd swear by. I noticed I do worse on days that I don't go to 3FC. Crazy, eh?

Welcome. You really will get support here. I'm not sure I agree with some people not having the same "switch" because if that were true, how would a baby or very small child know when to stop? They stop eating when they're full. You literally can't make a 1 year old eat if they're full.

I think it's learned. Perhaps at an early age. You know to stop drinking at a certain point probably because at one time you learned what happens if you drink more - either in reality or in theory. We know to stop eating at a certain point. We continue because of many reasons. That's what we're all trying to figure out. You are successful at not drinking in excess. I'm positive you'll be successful at not eating in excess.
