Thumbs down New to Low Carb, have some ?'s

Hello everyone,

I have recently decided to follow Dr. Atkins plan after trying unsuccessfully to break my plateau of about fifteen pounds. I've read the book, but still have some general questions about what I can eat. I work at a deli, and they serve chicken salad by the scoop. Assuming the salad is made with mayo that contains no sugar, couldn't I eat a scoop of that for lunch? I also grab breakfast at convience stores, would a pack of salted peanuts and some beef jerky be okay? I'm so lost, I greatly appreciate any help. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks

Are you doing induction? With induction you have specific foods you can eat and peanuts and beef jerky are not on it.

Now the chicken salad is legal providing it has mayo and not sugar. I make a tuna salad with mayo, a little green pepper and onion. You are allowed 1 cup of certain vegetables per day so I chop up and put in little containers and use it on my lettuce salad or my omlet or my tuna or chicken salad.

I hope this helps. By the way I am on induction for awhile because I have 50 pounds to loose.

If you have any more questions, please let me know.

Good Luck and God Bless

Talking Thank you

Dazzlingd,

Thank you for your help. Yes I am doing induction, this weekend alone I have lost almost two pounds. Hmmmm, I'm going to have to rack my brains for no-carb convience foods in the morning. Maybe I'll look at fast food chains websites now. Good luck to you and thanks for the great ideas

Make some boiled eggs, they are easy to eat while driving (at least, that's what I do ) Also, you can eat last night's leftovers, such as chicken wings or roast beef. The protein really sticks with you to keep you full until lunch. Have fun with your food so you won't get bored. Good luck to you!
