Good morning Lexiss! Is everyone sleeping in today?!

I started making black bean and corn salad to take on our camping trip (I'll add massaged kale to mine!), but wanted a little internet break. We're watching the weather...we think our rain from Irene won't be here until Sunday night, but we almost ALWAYS get rained on as we break down camp!!

I have a lot to do otherwise to pack up, esp. after finding out the girl from work will be staying here to watch the animals. Ooops! Lots of cleaning necessary!

Have a great day. All stay safe from Irene! (I'm so glad I'm not in NC anymore!)

Ok...that's better!

We had a nice picnic last night and food choices were pretty decent. The worst I had was 1 fried chix wing. The best I had was my own organic mixed salad topped with cucumber, zucchini and cherry tomatoes from our garden. I made my special basil vinegarette and it was spectacular!

Today, I've been working on Monday's yoga class. I'm trying to avoid the last minute rush. I'll wake DH soon so we can relax before heading to the pool. I'm thinking I'll ride my bike. I might not get back this morning...my computer has been slow.

What's up in your world today?? Stop and say hello

Twynn, I hope you have a dry and safe camping trip!

Procrastinating here too, even though I'm on my more than first cup.
Good morning I decided to work today to get everything done before next Wed. I can use the extra day's income and I just personally need to get as much done as I can before handing it off. I'm negotiating my contract for the next 10 months. If anyone has any experience with lump sum contracts - based on dollars not hours, I'd love any tips. This is a new experience.

My brother and family are currently evacuating from Virginia Beach. They were lucky enough to find a place that allows dogs so they are heading a couple of hours inland. It looks like we will get a pretty hard hit for a land-locked state too. It's not winter so I'm not at all concerned. We have a gas stove and very well stocked pantries. Tomorrow we will charge all entertainment devices. The Kindle should hold enough charge to get us through more than we will need but we do have actual paper books just in case

I am seriously winding down work stuff and looking forward to Thursday. I'm starting to get a little nervous about being underemployed but not letting it get to me. I really want to take it easy for September to give myself time to catch-up and refocus. There are more jobs popping up so hopefully I can patch things together when I'm ready.

Enough babbling for me! I bet there are more of you posting now too.
Happy Friday!

ETA - Happy camping Twynn!

Debbie - Last night I was just wondering what I will eat when the tomatoes and cukes are gone. I've had my salad almost every night and we always finish it. Hmm, have to make a big one for the weekend

Yes, you were the first, Debbie. I've been elsewhere on the Net this morning. Sorry but I didn't send postcards. A to all who checked in while I was writing this epistle!

It's supposed to be a nice day but is not looking great right now. I'm hoping that's fog out there instead of clouds. I plan to do little bits of "musts" today and spend some "me" time altering clothes which is gradually turning into a "must" as the weather cools. I packed away all my fall clothes in the spring and know most of them will have to be altered or sent to Goodwill. Buying all new ones would be fun but way too expensive and they'd still all need shortening anyhow.

My nephew gets married tomorrow afternoon at my sister's Farm so I will go over there this afternoon to help with some of the set-up. The ceremony is at the pond with the BBQ and dance in the barn. I'm doing flowers for her as the mother of the bride tanked on her at the last minute.

Tonight there is a chicken BBQ and the Delta Film Festival. Young teens have attended theatre school in town and have made a documentary of our Village. It should be interesting. A friend has also booked the Mill for a poetry reading mid-September. Who says there's no culture in small towns?

Enjoy your TGIF and either gear up or down for the last weekend in August.

Happy Friday!

My son decided to fly back to campus today instead of tomorrow. He connects through DC this trip and wanted to get ahead of Irene as much as possible. So we'll take him to the airport later. And this morning I'm baking him cookies to take back. I have more willpower in the mornings so that is a good thing

When I get up at night (to pee) and first thing in the morning my knees are stiff but it always goes away. Except for today for some reason. So not sure I'll get any exercise in.

Off to get some stuff done before I begin baking. Have a great day, everyone.

I was elsewhere on the internet this morning, too. Sorry.

So I took Audrey all the way down to the shore in DE yesterday, only to find out there's a mandary evacuation and they're coming back today. I can certainly understand, though, and we'd all be worried out of our minds if Audrey was there during the hurricane. Maggie and I ended up staying all day since we were having such a good time, and didn't get back until late last night. I would love to have today off, but Cindy has to work this morning, and we don't know when Audrey will be getting in, so off to work I go.

Good morning Lexxiss, Twynn, Cindi and Ruth
I woke up very tired and with the same headache I left work with yesterday. I think I'm a little stressed at work because I'm getting a lot thrown at me with very little explanation of how to do it, and being a person who likes to do the best job possible, it's stressful. Oh well, I've only been there 7 weeks, I'm sure it will come in time.
Twynn-You are a brave soul going camping this weekend!!
Lexxiss-Your basil vinegarette sounds delicious, especially on your organic veggies.
Cindy-Hope all is well with your brother's family. You sound like you are ready for Irene! I better get with the program.
Ruth-Thank you for the compliment yesterday. You are one busy lady! Enjoy your nephew's wedding and I hope you get to all your "little bits of musts" and "me time" today.
Have a great weekend in spite of Irene!!

I had to get back and see what everyone is up to today! Be safe with approaching storms!

When I get super busy I sometimes forget how helpful my list can be so I started one again this morning. I have a birthday present that needs to get mailed so I'm off to take care of it so I can get it sent while we're in town.

Green smoothie time!

I'm entrenched in the 200s. I'm at 292, lost 6lbs this week. I will be moving on Oct 1 to an apartment of my own. I've heard bad reviews about the place I have my eye on, so wish me luck when I go visit it.

It is so much harder not to eat when I don't exercise! But I did manage to pack all the cookies into my son's two bags so none leftover to tempt me. Phew. I'm off to clean more in my teen's room. Gotta distract myself from eating since I'd normally be gearing up to treadmill in the afternoon. But my knee finally feels better so may still squeeze in a small workout after the airport run.
