Default starting again, again

Here I am again..and not sure which way to go. I have been most successful with LA Weight Loss which is no longer available in my community; tried WW and was not very committed and then did Ideal Protein and had immediate success but didn't maintain the diet(really restrictive). My screen should actually be Duncan since I appear to be Queen of the Yo Yo's. I am thinking of WW again but wondered what others were doing which they find successful? Thank you.

Hi there! I know it's hard to find the right plan, but once you do, it does get so much easier (although there's often times that learning curve to deal with).

For me, Calorie Counting has been awesome. I keep track of my calories all day long on my LoseIt app and it's really convenient, but you can keep track of calories on an online site or simply by keeping a food journal. It costs nothing and no food is off limits. Of course I am aware of my own triggers and try to be mindful of those. I tried WW and found it too broad with the whole fruit thing. I can't be trusted with that kind of responsibility of eating till I'm full!

Anyway, I'm really glad you're here....there's tons of good info. I really suggest making changes slowly....pick something new to tackle every week so that you're not completely overwhelmed.

I agree. I did Weight Watchers for years, off & on, and while I think it is one of the more healthy and balanced plans out there, I found the new Points Plus too cumbersome and couldn't get serious about it. I started calorie counting using Fitday since the end of May and have been going strong. I try to follow the Weight Watchers "healthy eating" guidelines (5 fruits/veg, adequate protein, 2-3 milk servings, etc) but just keep in my calorie range. As an added benefit, I think I spend less time thinking about food because it is easier to calculate. Take a look at Fitday - it will calculate your calorie deficit based on your goals and you can track calories and exercise online for free.

I also count calories, and it's so easy for me. I think it's one of the best plans for beginners, because there's really not much grey area. You just eat within your limits, tada! And if you're feeling advanced, you'll give a cursory glance to sodium and carb counts on foods you're consuming within your calorie count.

I'm not sure exactly what LA Weight Loss entails - can you just follow that way of eating on your own?

I do think finding the plan that fits right is a huge deal - I am not recommending the plan I am doing (Dukan Diet) because it is very restrictive and you already said you don't like that. But I can tell you that being on this plan is so easy for me, when any other time I've worked on losing weight it has been such a big struggle. So I wish you good luck finding the plan that is right for you!
