Default I want to stay on track with my diet and exercise because...

1. Having a high percentage of body fat isn't healthy.

2. I don't want to have to buy bigger clothes.

3. I want to look good at the next high school reunion.

4. I don't want to be ashamed of myself in a bathing suit.

5. Being fit feels so much better than being frumpy.

6. I want to set an example for my sons.

7. When I turn 40 in November, I want to be FABULOUS.

8. Last but not least: Life's too short to be unhealthy!

How do you answer that question?

... it feels tremendously empowering to work at being fit and healthy. When I work out and achieve some new fitness gain, or come out of a workout drenched and high on endorphins, or catch a glimpse of muscle tone in the mirror, or even just passing up that enormous bag of chips I totally would've scarfed down in half an hour a year ago, I think, "man, I rock!" My self-esteem is running high these days, and I feel proud of myself whenever I've done something good for my body.

My reasons (most pressing first):

1. We're going on our first beach holiday together in two weeks and I don't want to look like a beached whale next to my v sporty / muscly boyfriend.

2. My mood / confidence is so much better when I eat healthily and exercise. No more fat days!

3. I am moving back to the UK and starting teacher training. I want to radiate healthy sportiness and have everyone I meet imagine I've always been this way (eek).

4. I want to start training for triathlons and take netball up again and use it as an outlet for teacher training related stress.

5. In my next 5k race I want to have the body to match my time. In the pictures from the last one, I am an average sized blob on the sporty, toned landscape.

6. I want to get my healthy habits / body etc in order before I get married (a long way off) and have children (even longer off). I don't want to have to go on a diet to fit into my dress, and I definitely don't want to be dieting in front of my children.

Wow, that is a lot of reasons!

~ I want to feel good and look good on our beach vacation this year. That's my short term motivation right now.

~ I too want to be a good example for my sons. They deserve an active, participating Mom who shows them the fun in exercise and the deliciousness of healthy foods.

~ I'm sad when my boys miss out on fun things just b/c I'm hiding myself... pool, beach, playdates... I get depressed when I'm overweight.

~ I want to have another baby and starting off overweight is only going to make my whole pregnancy less comfortable. I want to have a healthy pregnancy.

~ I love clothes! I want to feel good in my fab dubs again!

~ I like fitting in with the fit Moms in my hood. I don't like feeling frumpy next to them.

~ Because it feel good!

My mood! I want to stop being so irritable and moody because I cant get control of my eating.

I want to be able to put on a pair of shorts and a tank and feel comfortable again.

Lastly, I want to prove that I am NOT a "thick" girl. That this isnt "just how I am".

I will get to goal once and for all. NO more excuses!

1. Being in shape/ healthy/ looking good/ being at what I consider an " acceptable weight" greatly affects my mood and overall outlook on life.

2. I love slipping into clothes that were once too tight or walking into stores and actually being able to wear the things I like.

3. Getting into shape/ healthy has had a great impact on everyone around me. Its motivating my family and friends to make better choices for themselves. I want to continue to be a motivation.

4. I will be married and pregnant someday and I don't want to struggle with food and body image issues when I have a family to take care of.

5. Overall when I feel thin and attractive my self esteem is through the roof! Its the exact opposite when I dont. Our health and weight and two of the few things we actually have complete control over so I want to do everything in my power to look and feel my best.
